Radiator successfully changed now . Thanks again to Alex. Not a hard job in the end; probably took about 3 hours which is what my local garage said it would take them!! They were either lying or they must be really slow as I'm pretty sure I could do it in 2 hours if I had to do it again!!

Having pushed a rod into these 2 holes, I can feel a spring at the end of each. However, not being able to see them, I'm not sure how to release them! It works perfectly . The new one is perhaps slightly brighter but not a lot. Just the central locking, radiator and horn to fix now!!

have you managed to get to the contacts behind the steering wheel? If so, is it easy to get the front off the steering wheel without setting the airbag off?

My horn no longer works on my 6n2 Polo GTi. Nothing wrong with the fuse but there is no live feed to the horn terminals when the horn is pressed so I believe it to be a faulty contactor behind the steering wheel. I haven't actually got a new radiator yet - wanted to be confident that I could change it myself before I bought a new one. Got a quote from Unipart for about £90 (plus £12 for 5 ltrs of coolent) but that's as far as I've got! Is yours new or second hand?
