Figured it out now! Sorry to even waste your time, easy when you know how...

There like barb clips but dont push back to come out, so you just get a screwdriver and pull back the thing its clipped on to and it comes straight out.. if that makes sense.

Alright guys, been wanting to paint the stripe on my GTi grille for a while now and ive been wondering if theres any kind of method to getting the stripe off the grille?.. because ive looked but cant seem to figure out how to get it off without snapping any clips, its a genuine vw part if that helps...
