Even if they do test for it, having a car remapped is only illegal if it isn't declared to your insurer. Can't see MOT centres asking for proof of that.

But largely likely it may be incorrectly aligned throttle body. It was also a bad move to move the butterfly valve when cleaning because this can damage the tb. Personally I wouldn't go anything over an 8. My rotiforms were 8.5 and they rubbed so had to raise the car quite alot.
