Re: glovebox handle broke!!

Apologies for reviving this topic, but my glovebox door handle broke off recently as well.

Can I just replace the handle, or do I need to replace the whole glovebox assembly?

If just the handle, does anyone know the part number for it?

A how-to for replacing it would be very much appreciated ...

Re: Instrument cluster swap: can it be done?

Thanks for your reply Ben,

Can you tell me how I can acces that particular spot? Is it behind the instrument cluster?
Also, isnt the problem you're describing more a an aircon/heater problem? Or did you have the same issue where the buzz/rattle seemed to emanate from the rev counter (around 3000 ...

Instrument cluster swap: can it be done?

Hi All,

I've got a nasty buzz/rattle in my revcounter when the needle hits the 3K zone, so I'm considering buying a replacement unit on Ebay (part: 6N0920804E)
Is it easy to replace, and if so, will the milage shown on the LCD display still be correct? (In other words: is the milage stored in the ...

I had the same problem. It can be fixed by putting a few small washers (about 3 or 4 will do) on the screws in between the foglight and the bumper.

Gets rid of that silly gap!

Cheers.

Re: 16" wheels. What tyre size?

Thanks mate!

I guess the reasoning behind this theory is that 45's make the 16" wheels 'too large' and therefore the gearbox needs to work harder to make em spin.
It sounded reasonable when I read it at the time ;). A load of rubbish then?

Cheers.

16" wheels. What tyre size?

Hi All,

I'm looking into buying a set of 16"alloys and I'm wondering what size tyres to fit them with.

Initially I was looking at 195/45/R16's but I've been told that anything over size 40 severely limits the life of the gearbox. Is that true or urban myth?
In other words: should I go for 40'or 45 ...

Shark Fin Aerial: bad FM reception

Hi All,

I recently bought and installed one of them shark fin aerials on my 6N2.

Rev-counter rattle!

Title sounds like a funky dance, I know

Anyway, does anyone recognise this issue with the rev-counter:
When taking your foot of the throttle and being around 2000-3000 rev/min, it produces a rattling/grinding noise.
It is not a very large issue, but it is starting to annoy me nontheless ;)
Is ...
