Re: Are You Using Oil?
I got my Gti back on Wednesday after they eventually agreed to a new engine. So far, so good. Pickup from low revs seems much cleaner and no clouds of smoke when I accelerate hard. It really is scary how little some dealerships know about this issue and what some people are being asked to go through.

Re: Are You Using Oil?
Aaaargh! Car went in today for its 2nd service along with a few questions about what is being done on the whole Oil Consumption saga (a fix/new engine/reject car etc). Just before they close for the day the receptionist calls me to advise the car is ready and that I need to do another 600 mile test!...

Re: Using Oil!
Aaargh!
Oil usage after the Piston Rings/Oil Scrappers still terrible.
I went back to the garage, started another 600 mile test and.......
.....the oil light came on after 581miles!!!! 1.5L in 581 miles. This has to be some kind of record!
Waiting on VW for a response (as usual).

Re: Using Oil!
There is a god.
Took the car in, spoke with the bloke and he confirmed there is a TPI for oil consumption.
See you in 600 miles.

Re: Using Oil!
I'm starting to get hacked off now over this oil consumption on my GTI. Garage 1 (Witherspoons, Sighthill in Edinburgh) - They agreed to do a consumption test after 5000 miles after much arguing on my part. Go along today to get them to top it up and start the test only to find they are now out of b...

Smell of Petrol!
Hi Guys,
I picked up my Black 3dr Gti yesterday and I may have an issue already.
I've taken it on 4 or 5 drives but I've noticed a smell of petrol when I'm coming to a stop/stationary.
Anyone else had this?

Re: Who is still waiting on a Polo?
I've been waiting a while for mine.
I ordered a Black Gti with RCD510, DAB and MFSW on 18th August and its down for build week 6.
If it turns up in March that'll mean a 7 month wait!
I cannot describe how jealous I am with some of you guys already having yours already.
