Polo 1.2 9n 2002,oil change slip?

Posted this on another forum,but not had a response just yet.

Anyway it seems like i've fallen prey to the polo timing chain slip after a routine oil change.The car is a 2002 1.2 with only 53k on the clock.

Ive read on the 'interweb' that this is a common problem with them,I just can't believe a ...

is the sealing cord working?,i don't mean completely take it out,i just ment the section in the middle where the radio is.thought i might be able to get my hand through and tighten something :)

if you take the dash apart ul only disturb it and itl be worse lol this happened to me when i installed both my head units on both my 9n3 and 9n it will go away eventually

Creaking dam dashboard 9n grrr

I believe this is common on the 9n,,it creaks like mad with egine vibration and dips in the road,,it seems to be coming from behind the top tray towards the window.

Question is has anyone solved it,,if so any tips?? i thought about taking the centre dash section out and seeing if there was any ...

Thats what it is,they are told to do the jobs as quick as possible-ive met the owner and you can tell he like the cars in then out,,once my back is sorted i can get back on it.,,im going to invest a few more helper tools as to take the strain of it a little,,one is crawler,,and some higher stands ...

Took my 9n in for a MOT yesterday,,failed on n/s front rear wishbone bush,,supprise supprise,,,o/s cv boot and both drop links,,normally i would do these jobs myself (im no mechanic but im not bad) but due to a slipped disc i had to get the garage to do it,,first time ive had a garage work on a car ...

cheers ill hope someone comes along,,its mainly a bit of help with the removal of the door cards.

Trust me i wouldbe getting one with the estras,just this one has come up with 47k for 1k with 12 months mot/6month tax,so cant really refuse it,,im going to sell it on in a couple of months hopefully ...

interesting you ask this as im about to buy one of these cars myself,and part with a 1.4 polo (w reg) which i think is heavy on fuel,,i was hoping the 1.2 would be much better,,the one im buying has 47k on it.

Buying a 9N~How easy to fit central locking & e/windows??

How do everyone,,im currently buying a 02 polo 3 cylinder one with round lights.

The car is so standard,its untrue,,its a 5 door E,,the only electrics are the mirrors :roll:

How easy is it to fit central locking,,and best way,,original polo bits or an ebay kit,,i would also like some sort of thob ...

had the screen refitted and sealed,as after loads of looking around I cannot see where it is coming in from,,the underfelt is soaking wet,,,the bottom drains are clear behind the inner wheel arch covers,,the top drains are clear,door seals look fine,cant think of anywhere else,,the only thing was a ...

Can anyone suggest where water could be getting in at the front,the drivers footwell carpet is very wet.

I tthought it was the rear lights which was leaking but ive sealed them now,,stilll having trouble with the drivers side.

not had it done yet mate,im getting it done next week,,you may have a electronic egr on yours,try unplugging it then give it a drive.

Is yours doing it through all the gears?
