Volkwagen Economy Parts

Hi guys,

I've just heard VW are now offering a range of economy parts for cars older than 5 years old.

More information can be seen here: http://www.volkswagen-parts-and-service ... kages.html

Has anyone had any experience of these parts?

Re: Unleaded fuel smell when car is stationary

Updating in case anyone else has the same problem. This turned out to be a cracked breather hose. After replacing it there is no pong!

Unleaded fuel smell when car is stationary

Bit of a strange one... Over the last few days I have noticed a strong fuel smell when the car is stationary. This only seems to happen after a run where the car has been moving consistently for a short period of time. It is more noticeable when stationary at a junction when leaving the motorway. Wh...

Re: TERRIBLE VOLKSWAGEN UK SERVICE! AVOID.

I took my 1.2 TSI Polo into a main VW dealer for a routine service at 70k miles. They called me to tell me the tensioner needed replacing and so did the timing chain. The cost of this was around £1500 inclusive of labour, however, VW UK were willing to pay 95% of the cost, so I had the tensioner and...

Exhaust Corrosion

Hi guys, I have just had a 70,000 mile major service on my 1.2 TSI SEL Polo (2011). The dealer said there was excessive corrosion on the exhaust back box and therefore needs replacing. As the exhaust is classed as a 'wear and tear' item it is not covered by any warranties!! What could cause such exc...

Re: New 1.2 TSI's, still using oil?

The 1.2 TSi engine has never had an oil consumption issue. I believe this is isolated to the 1.4, 1.8 and some 2.0 VAG TSI/TFSI engines.

Re: 1.2 tsi owners

Hi Jamie, I would be intrigued to know what your issue is? I have a 1.2 TSI SEL and there is a thread somewhere in relation to the rattling coming from the engine bay which I believe is due to a lack of support for the fuel lines. How is this rattle different? Do you know if the timing chain needs r...

Re: 1.2 TSI Louder ticking coming from engine bay when idlin

I have a 1.2 TSI and I also experience this, albeit only when the outside temperature is cold. Now the weather has warmed up it no longer occurs. I've got a video of it happening somewhere, which i'll try upload tonight.
