Re: Idle Revs

Mine's the 115PS version, with a GPF but before the latest changes. Normally idles at about 800, but has been idling higher at startup when cold, normally about the 1,000 mark. When new it idled higher too, more like 1,200.

Re: Polo 110 R DSG - Navigation not active.

I think with 'Function on Demand' you can activate the nav later. Basically means the GPS antenna is there, but the nav function is only activated by purchasing it later. In the new Golf, there's an 'in car store' function through the infotainment system where you can buy extras. I know the old A3 h...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

Re changing the taillights- the facelifted Mk.4 Polo had a subtly different shape to the tailgate glass, whilst leaving the rest of the back of the car unchanged apart from the light clusters, which remained the same shape just different units. I quite like the thin 'lightbar' designs like the new L...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

Well, it's a pre-production test car, hardly one to draw much conclusions from!

If you want a more adventurously styled car, VW have never really been the brand for that. Within the VW Group, Audi and Seat are the more adventurous styling-wise, in my opinion.

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

In a Polo with manual A/C, when you turn the air selector or the temp selector, you're physically moving the doors in the system which direct air out of different air vents, or to change the temperature. In a Golf, from the Mk.6 onwards, the HVAC is totally electrically controlled, whether you have ...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

The exterior of the Golf 8 has grown on me. I'm still unconvinced about the buttonless interior though. I'm not so sure that the Polo will get a fully buttonless interior though. The base model cars have a mechanically controlled heating/AC system, and adding electrically controlled blend doors woul...

I parked my Ibiza next to a Mk.1 Golf the other week. The Golf looked so tiny!

Re: Long Term Ownership.

The Polestar is a gorgeous car. They had a tour thing where they brought the car to various places, they brought it to the Trafford Centre. I overcame my intense hatred of that place and went to have a look- it's gorgeous and the interior is lovely. Had a look at an ID.3 in Berlin too, and whilst th...

Re: SEL 1.0 TSI 95PS or 110PS?

If you're adding any thing then it'll take too long to build and get to the UK if you want the car in a month and a half. Regarding the Active Info display- it can't display Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. TBH it's cool but you're not missing a huge amount not having it! The paddle shifts are definitely...

Re: SEL 1.0 TSI 95PS or 110PS?

TBH with Carwow or DriveTheDeal, both are just a couple of clicks, so it's worth checking both. It's also worth taking the best offer you get from them and seeing if your local dealer can match it, rather than have to go and pick a car up from the other end of the country. Regarding the 110 vs 95- I...

Re: New mid range United spec

There was a group buy on the Seat Cupra forums for them, it was about £110 IIRC. The other option is to look for an SEL, R-Line, or GTI+ in a scrap yard, as they have it standard. That's what I did with my old Fabia, cost me £30 for the armrest. I scoured eBay for a breakers yard that had an SEL mod...

Re: New mid range United spec

If you're missing the centre armrest, it's easy enough to fit one. It's just a couple of bolts.
