Has anyone fitted a 12v socket in the boot?

I have a 2011 SEL without a 12v socket in the boot and looking to fit one.

I have read that in the mark 5 golf there was a cable run to the boot for the socket even if it wasn't fitted. Does anyone know if this is the case with the Polo?

Hi, Polos with the single headlight are a single h4 bulb for dipped/main beam

Mine does seem to be when everything is cold. I.e it doesn't seem to happen at the end of journeys, not sure if this is the same with others
