Re: New member. New Polo. A couple of small problems to fix.

sloshing water is presumably in the heater channels. this means water's getting somewhere it shouldn't in the plenum chamber. (unless you're losing loads of coolant, in which case it's the matrix!) This could be caused by a faulty seal, broken cover or a blocked drain. Find where it's getting in 1st...

+1 on the "don't build what you can buy" logic.

yep - top mount if you know it's dodgy. bottom ball joint after that. CVs normally click on full lock as a 1st sign of failure.

Have a look through the build threads and galleries. The choice is massive!

This site's VERY handy if you're unsure of tyre sizes:

Re: rear seats problem.

They aren't the most confidence inspiring handles at the best of times on these! If you can get hold of a matching rear seat for sensible money, do it. I'd anticipate you should be able to wedge the working side up, then wangle something up over the pin on the broken side, working in the boot to rel...

Re: Throttle Body issues

I'm under the impression the ECU needs coding to the throttle body. (Certainly does if you swap it!) When ours was changed, the local garage we use had the kit to do it, so it's not out of the question that someone local to you might have the technology too. The issue with them is electronic, not me...

Re: Twitchy back end after installing coilovers.

I've no personal experience of cheap coilies on polos, but plenty on other cars. I've never known them cause bad handling. So... a couple of thoughts: The act of fitting coilovers puts more load on other components in the suspension - bushes, top mounts and tyres. ... So you could be simply highligh...

Re: Front pads problem

Check it's got the right discs on, and that the pads that you've been supplied with are right too. On older cars, there were issues with this kind of thing due to confusion over solid and vented discs. I presume there's no way this can be the issue on these though? (I'm pretty sure - from memory - t...
