Re: DIY Brake bleed and flush.

Cheers for the walk through and advice all really helpful. Thanks all. OK. I now have a revised cunning plan! :) I was going to bleed the brakes first and then do my discs and pads. However, as mentioned above it makes more sense to do those first, then bleed/flush everything through. Pressure bleed...

Re: DIY Brake bleed and flush.

Id wire clean around nipples, or at least spray some wd night before. The the hex on the nipple starts to round, use locking pliers and heat up the area and spray wd while its hot. I had one nipple like that. If you have one person bleeder kit, it's easy. Left side should be the side looking when y...

DIY Brake bleed and flush.

Brake fluid has not been changed for some time so I borrowed a tester from a neighbour and it is showing increasing moisture content so overdue to be replaced. I jumped the gun and bought a cheap pressurised brake fluid bleeder. Not really like me but I thought why not? So any little traps waiting f...

Throttle pedal swap?

Tick-over has been a little odd for months and appears to be getting worse. Had a little look and found that if I tap the body of the throttle pedal it makes things settle down to normal. Picked up a used pedal off Ebay. Matching part number etc. But can the pedal be swapped without adapting the rep...

"D" for "Date"?
Now I've had a think, it could be "Datum, a fixed point??" No matter so long as I'm looking for the correct part number.. :)

Faster than normal tickover?

Apologies as I think I may have asked this question quite some time back but just can't find the thread. I have a little niggle that has slowly become worse overtime. I'm finding that when I come off the power the car won't settle to a normal tick-over of around 680rpm. Instead is settling to 800, 1...

Part numbers and associated date code?

Am I interpreting the date code correctly? I assume D >> - 06.06.2011 is everything up to that date. And D - 06.06.2011>> - 05.03.2012 is everything between the two dates. I guess the D would be German for something or other? Volkswagen Polo (2010 - 2012) 15 accelerator pedal with electronic module ...

Re: Fix for front tyre making contact when fully turned?

Can you see any indication of where it is rubbing? If the tyre is making contact it should be leaving a tell-tail on the chassis or wheel arch liner. Have you checked the ride heights are the same left and right? Have you looked under the car for damage to the suspension? We've got pot-holes you cou...

Re: Fix for front tyre making contact when fully turned?

If it's just the left side? I'd check for a broken spring on that side. Does the car look like it sits lower on one side or the other?

Hi having same issue how did you manage to get it all off what did you use if you don’t mind me asking if you can buy dry ice use it. Puty dry ice over it, let if be for few minutes. Malware??

I use Malwarebytes for virus/malware protection and I'm getting way more "site blocked" pop-up from this site. Mostly riskware alerts from i.ibb.co domain. I suspect the adds rather than the forum itself. Didnt used to be a problem at all. It's almost every visit now.

Re: Rocker sills rust prevention

Be careful with how much water because it overflows to other areas outside off sill. When I blasted water from front towards back, it filled the compartment near the rear beam ( there are rubber grommets) Just blast wax from inside it helps a lot. I also added wax on bottom, along the edge. I think...

Re: Rocker sills rust prevention

Well not been near the Polo much because of some health issues but finally managed to give the car a long deserved wash. Much to my horror I've noticed a tiny rust bubble on the passenger side sill right in front of the rear arch. It looks like water has somehow crept under the seam-sealer on the re...

Re: New actuator for a 2013 1.2 tsi ( and maybe turbo )

Thank you , you say it won't cause any issues , how ever i still have the issues above where the EPC light come on from time to time if i put my foot down ( i was told it could be the actuator or turbo ) could this not be the issue for the EPC kicking in ? I wouldn't have thought so. As I said mine...

Re: New actuator for a 2013 1.2 tsi ( and maybe turbo )

It's just a little non return valve, it won't cause any issues for driving. Other than it's letting oil mist out of the crankcase. It's a "known problem" on the 1.2Tsi CBZ engines they are just flimsy and not up to the job. I replaced mine 3-4 years back and it's been fine since. I just ch...
