Wifeys car is up for grabs as my wife has just aquired a new car.

its a 6n2 as far as I know with pretty mutch all the toys air con, hid lights electric sun roof electric front windows.

it has done 160k but has a long mot and about 4 months tax and 4 decent tyres.

I'll get a propper ad up with ...

Wifeys polo gti has the posh air con controll unit but its mounted right at the bottom of the dash making it hard to adjust without taking your eyes off the road.

Has anyone moved the unit to the space directly under the radio ?

I havent measured it up yet so I suspect some cutting would be ...

Wifeys X plate 150k mile 1.6 gti is in need of a new clutch as it has juddering issues, I got the usual quote from mr clutch as a benchmark ( £230 ) but after sevral warnings on piston heads and numerous horror stories about there workmanship or lack of I'd rather take it to an independant I trust ...

I decided to go original vw as the parts werent that expensive ( £50 a shock ) and I'd like the car to remain original.

Hi all wifeys polo gti ( 1.6 16v 1999 on an X plate) had an oil light fault which the local vw specilist traced to a faulty oil temprature sender switch.

I had them do an oil pressure and temp check which were ok and there fault code showed the oil temp sender had gone to zero ohms dead short hence ...

Have just got wifey an X plate polo gti.

Its done 150k miles but it was a steal and its one of the rarer 5 door ones so suits her needs perfectly.

Obviously I will be replacing all the long term consumables over the next few months as this car will be a keeper for 2-4 years.
