Not much to do, just going to have to sit tight and see what happens when the car goes in. Might have to request some sort of compression test afterwards...

I have just completed my 1000k test as well, but instead of a likely piston ring replacement its going to be a replacement of the internal oil seal (not the valve stem). The information I got was that with the engine some oil is mixed in with the fuel and in my case the faulty seal is leaking too ...
