Re: Sourcing VW Polo mud flaps on-line
Those are the long ones, same as mine. I guess you can always trim them down a bit if you find them annoying.

Re: Sourcing VW Polo mud flaps on-line
If you take my advice try to get the shorter versions. I've got the long ones and they catch on obstacles on the road very easily, such as dropping off a very small kerb, it sounds like the bottom of the car is being ripped off!

Re: Driving in the snow
I'm on a spare set of 16" steels with Dunlop winter tyres. No problems in the snow, in fact I prefer it over the wife's Honda CRV.

Re: No Right handside Indicators! HELP! :'(
I'm having exactly the same problem on my 2011 1.2tsi, it did it last summer and its done it twice in the last week. Today I indicated to turn right and the bulb warning light came on the dash display, I could also hear the audible indicator clicking noise in the dash double in speed, the sort of ...

Re: HEADLIGHT DRL MODE
Mine has a separate bulb in the headlamp unit which when on looks like it's on a dipped beam (although it isn't the dipped beam bulb). The sidelights are on a different and separate bulb again.

Re: Servicing Costs
I think my original post was far from pointless. I do not have a service plan. It will be of use to anyone contemplating buying one of these cars in helping to set out what the real servicing / running costs are likely to be. I have generally been able to negotiate some form of discount for the ...

Servicing Costs
Just a thought, would it perhaps be useful to have a sticky setting out our experiences in servicing costs at the dealers. It might help to give others heads up on what to typically expect and even a bit of bargaining ammunition? I'll start the ball rolling:

Re: VW Offering LED DRL Retrofit
You would be correct in stating that you cannot turn the DRL's off the Polo. However, the actual output of the DRL is irrelevant. Instead of the output being through the dipped headlamps, it will be through the new LED lamps.

Re: VW Offering LED DRL Retrofit
It will be interesting to see if the headlamp DRL's can actually be re encoded to deactivate them after fitment of LED's. I've been assured by VW that on the latest models of the Polo it is not possible to turn them off at all.

Re: Disappeared down a pothole :(
Have a look on this site to see if it was previously reported, if not then get it on the site in case anyone else has the same problem!; http://www.potholes.co.uk/ I think the council may only be interested in shelling out if you can show they were already aware of the hole and hadn't fixed it, but ...

Re: New 1.2tsi
I managed to fit the mud flaps today, they certainly look okay and fit well. I also fitted the spare steel wheels with 186/60/15 winter tyres, I can tell a slight difference between these and the standard 215/45/16 tyres, the steering feels slightly lighter and the ride is a tad more comfy ...

Re: New 1.2tsi
The run in period is coming on nicely now, nearly at 900 miles. Still very happy with the car, impressed with the quietness of the car on the motorway and the high refinement for a super mini.

Re: Mudflaps, fitting to the 6R
Thanks, I've PM'd you.
I have the fitting instructions for the front set, must have thrown the ones for the rear away. But once you've done the fronts you'll get the idea.
PM me your Email address and I'll copy you a set. Sounds like you may have the odd clip missing.
