So after having a new engine 20,000 miles ago my oil consumption is gradually going up again. I've been keeping a record of it and now am using 1L in just under 1000 miles. Sadly, I feel if i go to VW they will just pass this off as it's not under the magic 600 mile mark.
Anyone had any luck using ...

Adding sub and amp to RCD510
Hello!
I'm looking to install a sub and amp to my 2010 Polo GTI. I've currently got the RCD510 head unit with everything else standard. Is there a line out from the head unit i can run to the amp in the boot or will I have to do some modifying and take a feed from one of the speaker outs?

Re: Cruise control
Cruise was fitted without any issues yesterday. The guys from Hazzy dayz came to my office to carry the work out. Took around 2 hours to complete and they've done a very good job.
Everything works as expected and looks completely OEM.
Definite thumbs up for these guys if anyone is looking for ...

Cruise control
After waiting and waiting on VW UK to be able to fit cruise through their dealers I've finally given up and gone to VWCruise to have cruise fitted on my 2010 GTI today. They're coming to my office to fit it.
Anyone had any experience of them?
I will come back once they've fitted it and I've had ...

If you've still got this at the end of September I'll be very interested in it.

Re: Audio Upgrades
I upgraded from the basic RCD310 to the latest RNS510 (at the time version F). Added bluetooth and voice recognition and it is great. It had a hard drive to download songs onto and the rear parking sensors, MFSW, iPod etc all work perfectly. The speakers could do with uprating, especially the bass ...

Audio Upgrades
Hey guys,
After my long running oil usage issues I'm happy to say that the GTi has been running fine for a couple of months now and using hardly any oil. So for my first bit of work I'm looking to upgrade the Stereo/Speakers.
I've got a RCD510 with DAB at the moment and was wondering what sort of ...

Re: Using Oil!
Another spanner in the works!
VW have managed to send the dealer the wrong gearbox so am without my car for another weekend and stuck with a gutless Fox instead. Not impressed as have to do around 500 miles this weekend but it's the only cars they have available.

Re: DSG on the blink
I've had the same issue a few times with my DSG as well. It seems to clear itself at the moment though. What i did get though was a knocking sound when the gears were changing down (not sure if it's related!) from the passenger side of the car. I mentioned this as they were looking into my oil issue ...

Re: Using Oil!
Yes go for the new engine Skipster, mine seems to have settled down now and is behaving itself. :)
You make it sound so simple John! :D
In a way I can't wait to have the argument with them, they will deny any fault of course and is all as per normal tolerances. My patience is wearing thin now ...

Re: Using Oil!
Sorry been a while guys but a quick update on my 60 reg polo gti.
Went in before Xmas and had the piston rings, lifters etc. replaced. Ran another 1000km test and used around 2 litres of oil straight away. Currently back in with the dealers and they're awaiting delivery of a new engine and gearbox ...

Re: Using Oil!
Hi Adam, mine is also Dec 2010 and similar mileage (4,500). Hopefully the ring replacement will fix the issue as it appears to have done on mine. As John mentioned engine replacement is still a possibility but is clearly a last resort, and as far as I know, is still the exception rather than the ...

Re: Using Oil!
Just throwing my name into this hat now as well. Was topped up 2 weeks after I'd had it (only around 700 miles down) and 600 miles later the oil light came on again. Took it into the dealers and they acknowledged the issue/tech bulletin and it's going back in next week to be sorted.
