Yes you have to take off the fender liner and engine mount, about 2-3 hours for someone that knows what he is doing.
No nose off job as the engine is mounted transverse.

Polo 9N3 steering is electric hydraulic so if the battery is bad you will have issues. Also check all earth and other connections.
