Re: 6N2 Pedal Box Problem?
Do you know if the pedal box has to come out or can you replace the pivot bolt with the pedal box in place? I can see me stripping loads of dash out mind! Maybe I'll remove the front seat or the steering wheel to make it a bit easier and more comfortable.

Re: 6N2 Pedal Box Problem?
Right, I've had a look at the pedal box (most uncomfortable half hour of my life!) and looks like I've found the fault. http://i39.tinypic.com/18f9fq.jpg This is an image of where the clutch pedal should be, the bolt looks like it's snapped in half. http://i43.tinypic.com/othpbk.jpg and this is wher...

Re: 6N2 Pedal Box Problem?
Thanks for the reply. I managed to get an early finish in work today so I'll get some light on the situation and see where it goes, and hopefully it'll fit back in place.

6N2 Pedal Box Problem?
I just had an interesting drive, I pressed the clutch in and a cylindrical piece of metal fell from somewhere and the clutch pedal and accelerator pedal are quite bad now. They both still work, but the clutch pedal feels like its hanging on my a thread and the accelerator feels as if it has dropped....

How's it going? Do you still have the drivers side electric window controls? If so, is it black or grey? How much for it?

Polo 6N2 Roof Runners?
http://i41.tinypic.com/ifcz6q.jpg The picture above isn't of my car but I found this on eBay. But I have the same problem as in the picture, paint is starting to flake off the roof side runners (if that's what they're called?). Question is, are these part of the roof or can they be removed/replaced...

Re: 6N2 1.4 8v, Oil by throttle body?
VW said it was £16 for a new hose. I tried a few scrappies but none of them had the engines left, so VW was my only choice really.

Re: 6N2 1.4 8v, Oil by throttle body?
I only recently bought the car, but according to the service history in the book, it was last serviced towards the end of February. And a couple of weeks ago I got the timing belt and coolant pump changed, the garage probably broke the pipe then I'd imagine!

Re: 6N2 1.4 8v, Oil by throttle body?
Thanks for the reply. I've just ordered a new breather hose from Vw which comes in next week. I'll give the throttle body a good clean as well, and then check it for oil after driving it. If oil is still coming up afterwards, would you have any other ideas of what could be at fault?

6N2 1.4 8v, Oil by throttle body?
Today, I went to remove and clean the throttle body on the car. When I removed the air cleaner top cover of the engine and took a look at the throttle body and there was puddles of oil around it. I also noticed that the breather pipe (on the left of the air box) wasn't attached to the bottom of the ...

Re: 6N2 Check Engine Light
ok excellent thanks for the help. I'll give it a go on the weekend. Although I took it to the garage today to get something on the suspension changed, and he plugged it in to the computer and it wasn't reading any faults so he reset it and nothing has appeared yet, so maybe it was just a glitch. But...

Re: 6N2 Check Engine Light
thanks for the reply. It's a 1.4 8v engine. I will have to check them out. Do you need specific cleaners for them? Would they cause poor MPG aswell?

6N2 Check Engine Light
Yesterday the engine management light came on as I was driving. The car was running fine as I was driving, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The only thing that seems to be causing a bit of a problem is that sometimes when I try to start the car, it doesn't start. It turns once and the nothing, bu...
