Electric window problem

Alright guys/girls? Had a problem with the passenger side electric window yesterday, it got stuck half way and wouldn't go up or down. I took the door trim off to see what was going on and the cable had rusted and snapped. Does any one know if the repair kit is available for this? I can find them fo...

1.4TDi EGR Valve

Hi, my mothers CEL came on so she went and had it scanned and it came up with a fault with the EGR valve. I want to try and clean it out before she has it replaced, to see if its just stuck open/closed. But the problem is I'm not use to these engines, can anyone explain where the EGR is and how easy...

Catalytic Converter - VAGCOM

The car is 2001 6n2 1.4 8v AUD engine. I have the CEL coming on every so often, I clear it and it comes back about 50 miles later, here's the readings I have received: 1st Reading VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US Chassis Type: 6N - VW Polo Scan: 01,02,03,08,15,17,19,25,35,41,45,46,55 --------------...

Re: 6N2 front suspension top mount.

I ordered them anyway, only cheap with discount. They look like bearings rather than the mounts. If the car makes a knocking noise, would it be the bearings or the mount? Shall I get the mount aswell before I start stripping the suspension?

Re: How to repair your flaky, perished Antenna Base Rubber S

It's easy enough to replace anyway, you don't need to take the entire head liner down. Just unscrew the rear roof handles, unclip the side strips at the back and gently pull the head liner down enough to get a spanner in to undo the retaining nut and out the aerial base comes, change the seals or th...

Re: 6N2 Front Wheel Bearings

The rear strut was a easy to be fair. I think it may be the rear bearings rather than the front now, so I need to get a big breaker bar or something to get the axle nut off to let me remove the rear hub, I don't think the rear hub is pressed in so once I have the 12 point nut off, it should be easy,...

Re: 6N2 Front Wheel Bearings

Excellent, thanks for the info. I need to change one of the rear suspension struts tomorrow, so I'll check the wheel bearings as well. Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost to recon the gear box?

6N2 Front Wheel Bearings

I've noticed that there is a bit of a whirling noise when I get up to speed, I'm assuming this would be the wheel bearings? If so, is it possible to buy a hub/bearing assembly, where it's all together from the factory? Looks like hard work getting old bearings out...

Re: 6N2 Pedal Box Problem?

Got all the parts from VW today, came to about £30! But these parts don't come with the pedal box so, had to buy them separate. The guy in VW said you should be able to do it with the pedal box in place but it's just a bit awkward to do, so I'll have a go of that first and then if not, get a new ped...

Re: Polo 6N2 Roof Runners?

Excellent, thanks for the reply. I will try and remove them, and get second hand ones or if they are removable, it would make it an easier job to re-spray!
