Re: Steering wheel shaking - advice/experience requested
If it’s not wheels you need to investigate whether you have a warped brake disc or a binding caliper. These problems would give vibration.

Re: Baz's build thread
Looking really good Baz, little touches like calipers make all the difference. Keep up the good work

Looks like a nice car Bazz, Black 3 doors are the best ones too I’m glad you got it fixed with the new ECU, result.
The pics look fine to me, any of the interior?

Ah ok, I’m surprised they even did the polo over there, I work in Saudi a lot and I’ve never seen a VW let alone a Polo!

Re: 6N2 GTI door handles and brake upgrade
Where are you from?
The mk5 golf or Transporter T6 has the same handles so that’s something newer to look at.
As for brakes, anything is possible if you change the hubs and possible drive shafts. I used the VR6 as a cheap example. Someone else may shed some light on the Ibiza setup.

Re: 6N2 GTI door handles and brake upgrade
Those style door handles have been on a few models so I’d guess you can still get them from TPS for example. Easy breakers yard find without doubt! As for brakes, I couldn’t comment on Ibiza but I have the 280mm G60/mk3 VR setup. Bigger discs and carriers, original calipers and pads so easy to do an...

Re: How active is this forum?
It’s hard keeping momentum with a build thread too, I’m slowly renovating my GTI but you guys would be fed up with how long it’s taking as I do a bit then it takes a back seat whilst I convert my T5 or mess around keeping my daily going for example.

Re: How active is this forum?
There’s not a lot of 6N2 GTI’s about now tbh. I find this forum good for the technical stuff. I tend to use edition 38 for build threads but you still only see the odd 6N2 on there.

Re: Pic request - GTi's on 16" BBS RXII's
It’s a shame to lower GTI’s too much IMO as you can’t drive them as intended. It’s ok if you’ve got a 1.0l 6N2 as it makes no difference

Re: Pic request - GTi's on 16" BBS RXII's
The wheels shown above were off the mk3 golf and the mk3.5 Cabrio golf. They are a straight swap as they are 4x100 pcd. You can put spacers on the rear if you want but you need to consider buying longer wheel bolts. Also if you have a lowered car the ‘tuck’ may come in useful for clearance so spacer...

Re: Central locking unlocks (sometimes) yet won't lock?
Have you checked for leaks in the pneumatic system? They are prone to leaking and not building enough pressure to operate the locks. Look around the petrol cap lock for airline leaks there, it's not uncommon.
