Alloy Sizes

Right, I have no idea about alloy sizes apart from the width number of studs and PCD. I was looking at getting some Subaru Impreza alloys for my 9n3 which are 5x100 (same as the 9n3), but looking into it further the impreza offset is 53 and center bore is 56.1 where as the 9n3 has an offset of 43 an...

Looks amazing mate!
Where did you get your debadged GTi grille from? Looking to get one for my 1.6 but can only find ones with the VW badge on eBay.

15" Black OZ F1s w/Toyo T1Rs - 4x100

Selling my OZ F1s which came off my Clio, painted black with a rattle can by the previous owner. They are 15" with a 4x100pcd. A couple of the wheels have slight kerbing but can easily be touched up and they might need to be balanced. Also come with Renault centre caps. Wrapped in Toyo T1Rs whi...

Pro-Speed Exhausts

Anyone had any experience with these guys?

Looking to get a back box done, and they make a decent noise by the sound of things.

Lowering on standard shocks

I've been reading around on this topic but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Looking to lower my polo, but using springs not coilovers. I had coilovers on my Clio and the ride comfort was terrible, so I want to retain some comfort I've read that springs would be my best choice. I'm not looki...

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

Another quick question (thought I would ask here instead of making a new thread). If I were to lower it on springs say 30 or 40mm, will I need uprated shocks or will the standard shocks do? I understand uprated ones will give me better ride comfort, but if they are not needed I don't mind using stan...

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

As an owner of a 1.6 Sport I'm glad you went for it! I picked up a 2006 model with 24000 miles in May and love it! Mine was slightly modified by it's previous owner having a bluemotion front splitter, votex body kit and VW OEM 17" wheels put on it. The engine is very fizzy and loves to rev, an...

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

You can drop it by 30mm or so on lowering springs which maintains the ride comfort, you will still see some wheel arch but not a lot. It will look a whole lot better whatever wheels you put under there. I still need to do the same! Keep rocking the sport grille :D 8) Ah cool, may have to get some n...

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

Love the new car! Good colour, good engine, right number of doors  I'm sure you'll be very happy with it! Cheers pal! Got a few ideas for it. Definitely needs some new rims, probably going to go for 17's to fill the arches instead of lowering it, lowered my clio on coilies and it ruined the r...

Saw it in person and took on a test drive, I fell in love with it. So you might be seeing a bit more of me round the forums now I actually own a polo!

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

I have one mate and It will nip at the heals of any hot hatch round the back roads with the right handling mods 8) and will always get respect for being quicker than it really should do, Ive had many comments many of "nice gti mate" and ive gone .. its only a 1.6, the look on their faces....

Re: Polo 1.6 Sport (105), thoughts?

The TDi's are good, a bit rough running compared to petrol but you get used to it. Although I don't think I've seen a 9n3 Tdi with less than 50k miles on it, but I'm sure if you can find one with 20k you're onto a winner! There are a few choices with Tdi 9n3s, the 1.4tdi is a super-economical 3 cyl...

Good to hear! Decent engine then? This question is probably more suited to people who have owned them for a while, but what's the mpg like on them?
The styling on it is a bit tame but that can always be changed.
