Re: polo gti 6r 2013 1.4 dsg - newbie
Not sure there's much you can do to reduce the issue if you have it. 2013 and later cars are better. Some say that driving in D all the time at low revs amplifies the consumption but S is a little too revvy for consistent use so you'lll have to go Manual although to be fair I've not see any differen...

Just the oil issue which you should know about by now If you're researching.
Other than that a great car. Make sure you have a decent warranty with it and I'd probably avoid buying private unless you want to buy mine off me in March if I decide to sell.

Re: Instrument Cluster Fault
I think there's a light sensor that controls illumination brightness. Have you got anything like a satnav of phone mic that might be covering it? Not sure where it's situated in the instructions I'm afraid.

Emission warning
So Friday driving home from work the Emission warning light came on on ignition of my 2013 GTI. Checked in for a look at VW on Wednesday. Light has since gone off a couple of journeys later but still going to get it looked at. I had a turbo pressure sensor go a few months ago which intermittently pu...

Re: finally picked up my polo gti!
Not in Essex but I can answer a couple of your queries as a black 2013 5dr GTI owner. The analogue speedo is only marked in MPH so to make it Euro legal the digital has to be in kph. You can get someone to reprogram it to Australian setting to show mph on the digital readout also but its a grey area...

Re: Are You Using Oil?
I think that people need to appreciate that the GTI is a high performance engine with a turbo and supercharger! Granted, some engines do drink too much but I accept that if the only issue is the engine requiring a fair top up from time to time I'll be happy! Mine is using a bit more recently- about...

Re: Polo 6C GTI/R-Line/R
We have seen an R 4WD protoype though. Has there been a GTI? I've missed it if there has. I think there's still a question mark over which engine the GTI is going to have. Varying reports of a revised 1.4TSI to a 1.8T. Personally I think deviating from a small genning is a bad idea. They know what c...

Re: From A 6R GTI To A 6C GT
Cheers for posting and interesting reading. Yep 16K is taking the mick but I recon they'd sell for £14-£14,500. £2,500 considering they've got to service warranty etc as well as pay salemans wages. Maybe Vat as well? I think you got a fairish price. Of course it'll factor into the price of the new c...

Re: From A 6R GTI To A 6C GT
If it's not too rude to ask. What did VW offer you on your GTI and what was the mileage? I'm hoping the R will be out towards the end of the year and I might swap if I can afford it. Whilst I like the Idea of the GT I;m not sure I could take the power cut now  and I want to stick with a DSG...

Re: POLO GTI 2013 buy or not buy? owners review please
2013 should be OK on the oil The twin charges engines do drink a little more than non twin charged. I've put 2.5 litres in mine in just under 5000 miles. (not including 1 service) It seems to be more prevalent with cars driven in D all the time and less of an issue with S or manually controlled. tbh...

Re: New Polo Composition Media Player
Hi there, newbie here! Just picked up my new Polo SE, and for some reason I don't see the MDI anywhere?? Just an AUX and USB port below the screen... Am I being blind, or have the mistakenly not included it as it is noted in all the spec details and brochures... Greetings. Is it in the glovebox. To...

Re: GTi hill hold question
Well I can confirm that after a delay hill hold does switch off. To be fair that's probably sensible. It's give you enough time to get to / from the brake. Then assumes that you do indeed want to roll under the power of gravity. I'd never really thought about it before but it turns out I use it like...
