Re: Limp Mode - Polo GTI

Good job I dropped it off first thing. Also due a DSG recall which " Is a whole day job" apparently.

Re: Limp Mode - Polo GTI

Happened again tonight. Booked into the dealers tomorrow. Not good on a car which hasn't covered 4000 miles yet.

Re: VW Polo Blue GT fuel consumption

In my GTI I get anywhere from 5-10% better economy using super. More than enough to off-set the cost and the performance is a little sharper also.

Re: Limp Mode - Polo GTI

Thanks for the offer but I'm London based. Get a nosebleed anywhere north of Watford :P . Think I'll keep an eye on it. If it happens again I'll take it to the dealer.

Re: OK daytime running lights now

It didn't make sense to me either on my MY13 GTI Default as delivered: Light switch off - sidelights & Main lights on Light switch in position 1 (Sidelights) - Sidelights on only, instruments lit. Light Switch position 2 - All lights on Instruments lit. I followed the good advice on here and di...

Re: Limp Mode - Polo GTI

So it happened to my 2013 GTI this afternoon. 3000rpm, loss of power down to 2000. Leave it a second and you can take it up to 3000 again, but no more. Got off the motorwasy quick. Left it for a couple of hours then it was fine.

Think I'll be checking it in on Tuesday morning. :|

Re: Facelifting 6R

Great pics. For what it's worth I think I prefer the pre-revision parts, apart from maybe the lights.

Re: The New 2014 Polo (Brochure)

Ouch over £23K for a GT to my spec. The GTI is gonna be a fortune and I'll need to amputate something for the R if it is released.

Re: Polo Blue GT

Good luck with your purchase and I hope you enjoy it. Having tested one myself I found the mini was not for me.
I'll get in touch next time I move house though to see if you can get me a good deal.

Re: Polo GTI 1.4 TSI ('11 Plate) Rattles when Turbo Kicks in

simple way to see if it's the actuator is to disconnect it. There's a thread somewhere with instructions.

Can't do a link for some reason but if you search for the thread titled "Sound actuator on 6R GTI" you'll find it.

Re: Polo Blue GT

It is but IIRC it was poor quality or mono sound. Someone in another thread went to the trouble of sourcing the correct cable that is required but for the price and hassle I think it's probably not worth it.

I purchased a 32Gb memory stick and stuck all my MP3s on that. Seems to be the best option.

Re: Polo GTI recall (DSG 7)

For the UK it's probably not essential and not worth a full scale recall. If I was VW I'd handle it as part of the normal service schedule but also offer it to anyone that asks outside this schedule.

As far as I can see its only been a real issue in a small number of cases in very hot countries.
