I did just what you told me ciclo and removed the oil filter, sure enough the small inner gasket from the previous filter was still inside. I removed it and installed the filter again....problem gone.

No I do not have any sockets for connecting anything in the glove box, my model is a 2011 TSI Comfortline.
Perhaps a new radio or an i-player would be the best option then.

is it possible to get a lead that will allow me to connect a usb memory stick to the 3.5mm auxiliary in socket near the cigarette lighter and play music on the car's radio (RCD310)?

Any pointers as to where I can get one from will be appreciated.

I am in Malta and if it comes to it I will probably have to do it myself.

The replacement of the cluster will probably entail the removal of most of the dashboard and steering wheel, not to mention electrical issues.

I have stripped components from cars before and I am not new to these ...

Is the GT cluster a plug and play job or does the existing TSI wire harness have to be changed/altered as well?
Will the vehicle's computer adjust itself to the new instrument cluster or will it have to be programmed/changed?
Is the cluster hard to remove?
