Re: Cautionary VW lowering spring story (farce)

I beleive you have missed the point,
VW havent released a part that is dangerous. the problem is they have not released a part that is correct for the 1.2 TSI in this country yet.
That doesnt mean the only parts that are available in this country become the correct parts to be fitted!

As for ...

Re: Cautionary VW lowering spring story (farce)

Thanks for the colour code info.

As for pearls input, where i agree that certain aspects of the cars handling have been improved, what is never a good idea is to fit equipment to a car that down grades the vehicles original specifications, This could also have implications should the car be ...

Cautionary VW lowering spring story (farce)

I will keep this short, where as the whole process has been painfully drawn out!!!

I requested my local VW dealership (I live in Kent) to fit the lowering springs to my wife’s VW Polo 1.2TSI R Line,
The garage took the Reg number to check suitability and informed me we where good to go.
Once the ...

Could somone with an R line please inform me how many seperate parts make up the rear bumper?
Is it bumper cover, lower spoiler and diffuser.

Or is the bumper skin and spoiler all one part and then a diffuser?

Thanks for any help.

Re: lowering springs fitted by VW

Not a case of over reacting,
I want the car that my wife and children travel in to be set up correctly and be as safe as possible.
I am a chartered mechanical engineer and lowering the suspension has a serious effect on the cars geometry. How do you know that your car is withinn tolerances? it would ...

Re: lowering springs fitted by VW

Quick update,

I have contacted VW UK and expressed my concerns on them advertising a service that has the potential to send a customers car out in a dangerous condition.
ie suspension geometry altered without any alignmnet checks!!

Will feed back what they say.

lowering springs fitted by VW

Can anyone else confirm cost and what was carried out?

I had an original quote of £522 supply and fit, I then pointed out that the accessories brochure states £309 fitted,
The quote was then dropped to this price!!
I enquired if fitting would include tracking as this is surely a basic part of ...

Please can you show me your 18" alloys set up

Would it be possible for people to show me there set up with 18" wheels?
Whats suspension used?
What alloys inclusive of widths offset etc?
What tyres?
Some images would be great.

I appreciate this may have an adverse effect on handling so some feed back on that would be appreciated.

Thanks
