Re: 1.4 85ps match fuel consumption

With 2.5K on the clock on my 20 mile commute I regularly hit 50mpg, with a little bit of traffic hit around 47 mpg on the way home. Town driving around 40-41mpg, overall pretty happy with the mpg. As others have said will improve with time.

Re: 2014 models to order from April 23rd 2014

The SE is listed as having a 1.4 engine and I thought that had been dropped and replaced with the 1.2 TSi 85 :?:

Overall pricing looks good and the Match model when it arrives will be another great buy. Overall the SE or SEL seem to look the best on the inside and outside IMO. Interesting that VW ...

Re: What Polo to get?

1.2 is indeed more powerful 105ps compared to the 85ps 1.4, along with more torque 175Nm v 132Nm. Use the power and it will drink more than the 1.4 however at lower rpm and light throttle is more economical. Match is the spec to go for if you can, it should be in your budget. Don't forget main ...

Re: What Polo to get?

A diesel is only worthwhile if you do the millage, DPF issues and the odd report of high fuel economy are things to watch out for in particular the 1.6TDi. Match is the best spec and the best price/performance option is the 1.4. 1.4 can achieve high forties on a decent run around 38-40 around town ...

Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.

The Geneva pictures show the Blue Motion with the current Polo bumper, the R Line has a Gloss back lower half and new upper grill, the new alloy wheels are nice. The Blue GT again has a new lower bumper insert. Revised rear light clusters and minor tweak to the bumper. It would be hard to detect the ...

Re: 2013 Match Edition Polo

Ebay will yield some results, the GTi parts will not fit, search for Polo 2009, quite a few chrome bits for the Polo steering wheel on there. GTi has a different steering wheel, although it may be the part on the steering where the optional multi function buttons would be. There are standard for all ...

Re: 1.4 85bhp remap?

Not had a remap on the Polo, but did have an E87 1.6 1 Series remaped from 115 to 129Bhp, biggest difference was a more responsive throttle response. Extra power was noticeable but not by much. An N/A engine will only give around an extra 10% power/torque, so won't make it that much quicker TBH.

Re: Buying new - what sort of 'discount' to expect?

Depends on the model, the lower end (1.2) have 8% discount and the 1.4, 1.2 TSi, 1.6TDi have a 10% margin. If a dealer is getting a bonus, selling 1.4s or volume bonus yu may get a little extra. Drivethedeal is a good place to start and see if they will match it. With the FL Polo round the corner ...

Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.

The lights look the same depends if the electrics have been updated with an updated CAN-bus.

I want to see a pick of a Polo S to see what a base model looks like. All the pics I have seen, seem to be of a GT. As I reckon the new range will be S, SE, GT, and GTi. Older spy pics had cars with a ...

Have it on my 1.4 N/A Match as well. I thought it was now standard across the range?

Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.

The steering wheel and stereo are from the MK7 Golf, SE fpr sterero ond gloss black steering wheel from the GT . The Polo pictured looks like GT type front and rear bumpers. Not sure if it has Xenons , has headlight washers in the front bumper. Little about the news 1.5 derv and that the 60 and 75ps ...

Re: 6R heavily misting up.

Try drying out the system. Switch a/c off and put on maxheat and maxblower for a good half an hour when up to temp. Moisture is trapped in the system a by product of using a/c.
