I know who has hit it the car now the gent that lives in the house it was parked outside. He has damage on his from offside wheel arch and bumper! He also had a go at me the other day for parking outside his house the following day the damage was caused!

Getting it done off insurance at £600 by a authorised VW bodyshop. Hoping to get it sorted next week.

Quote obtained for £600 including VAT from a authorised VW repairer.

Do I claim and pay £250 excess or pay the £600? Is a claim really going to impact my premium by an extra £350 over the following years?

Awaiting one final quote for the repair if not reasonable I will inform my insurance and claim. Just want it sorted ASAP now.

Couldn't of happened at a worst time, I complete on my first property on Tuesday and bank account is nearly empty!

What I thought was a approved VW repairer is in fact not. I have obtained a quote for a authorised VW repairer and it's near on £800!!! I don't think I have any real option now but to make a claim. Worth claiming on my 'free' insurance then? Will lose 2 years no claims and put me down to 7 years but will cost me £250 excess.

I bang on about this method all the time but it works. Place masking/electrical tape under the headlight. To protect the bumper as the light comes out. What youll find is you put alot of pressure on getting it out, it will slip and scratch the bit of the bumper under the light. Let me know if that ...
