Hey guys,
Just got a pm from one of the users and can't respond directly due to this forum's rules. Anyway, this may be of use to someone else as well, so here goes:
1) Was it difficult to do the conversion?
Not really, the most difficult part is getting the old handbrake cables out (yes, they ...

Thanks for the info.
To understand this a bit better, which part of the stop/start system is required to make this work? Because one can always retrofit a BCM from a GTI for example

Re: 12v power socket in boot
The part numbers I have are:
1K0 919 021 - 12V socket
000 979 145E - Wiring set, you'll need 2 of these
191 919 321 - 3 pin male plug housing (white)
1K0 919 341 J 9B9 - socket cover, non-illuminated, black
These are the absolute minimum you need which will require you to cut into the existing ...

Re: upgrade rear brakes
I've replaced rear drums with discs from the 6R polo - they work perfectly and braking is so much better now, especially the handbraking which was atrocious with the drums. I've fitted the parts belonging to South African 1.6 6R polo - (ETKA code PR-1KK). If anyone needs a list of part numbers ...

Re: 12v power socket in boot
I'm busy with that retrofit at the moment - hopefully will get to it next weekend if something else doesn't crop up. Required parts are really cheap. Will let you know how it went!
Let me know if you need the part numbers.

Re: ciclo's Polo. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
It's a Polo 1.4 Comfortline, South African model (engine code CLPA, mechanically very similar to CGGB minus EU5 certification). No start/stop function, with Halogen lights and fog lights. BCM installed in the car is 6R0 937 087 H. I've retrofitted the factory Rain/Light sensor and VCDS allows me to ...

Ciclo,
Could you please share with us details on how you got the Halogen lights to work with the Auto function?
Thanks, you're a star!

Re: OK daytime running lights now
PogoCT - we can have the same functionality by enabling "Nordic" setting - this keeps the parking lights, rear lights and number plate lights on even if the light switch is in OFF position. You will need VCDS to enable this setting.
Tested on SA 1.4 comfortline.
