Faulty Windscreens BGT
Hi All, I've had my BGT for 6 weeks and it had to go in for a new windscreen due to a stress crack right in the corner. It's cracked again within 5 days and is now in for investigation. My dealer has looked after me and given me good courtesy cars each time and promised I won't get the car back unti...

Re: BGT brakes - what do owners think?
I'm used to quite snatchy brakes when new so you could be right. The car does stop it just feels quite spongy unless you press hard. Considering how I've driven mine at times I know they work!

Re: First 1k Miles - Engine break in
I bedded mine in for 2000miles, but I was told by VW that as long as it's up to temperature it doesn't need a bedding in period. They said that parts are so accurately made these days they don't need to be bedded in. Make of that what you will!

Re: BGT brakes - what do owners think?
I'm glad you've said this as mine feels the same and I've done less miles than you. Doesn't brake as sharply as I expected unless I really plant my foot down hard. My wife has a new 1.2tsi polo SE and that feels really sharp in comparison.

Re: Stop & Start very fussy
Lucky, we don't get climate control as standard in the uk just A/C though the s/s works better with standard a/c.

Re: Is a polo blue gt worth the price tag attached to it?
I'd say yes. It's expensive for a little car but you don't see many of them, I'm getting 54-57mpg on my journeys to/from work (in these cold temperatures with winter fuel too!) and it's quite nippy. It's easily the best car i've owned. To put into context I got a Golf GTD with all the modcons whilst...

Re: Stop & Start very fussy
Do you have climate control or a/c Frog? I just have standard A/C and I can use that up to setting 3 before it won't let me use start/stop. Compared to my old golf, which used any excuse not to use s/s, I find the BGT wants to use it all the time.

Mine is also 700rpm, but I also have a manual. I may be getting a dsg for 24 hours tomorrow whilst mine is in, if so i will let you know.

Re: Very Annoyed!
Sad to hear about your bad luck James. I've had mine 5 weeks and mine has to go back in as it's got a stress crack on the windscreen where the glass meets the roof on the inside. Luckily it's covered under warranty. Hope you get it sorted.

Re: MPG for your Polo
I run a BlueGT, used for commuting mainly (60 mile round trip). Had the car 5 weeks and keep all my stats in the road trip app. The stats are as follows: Range :7/1/2015 to Current Average MPG : 50.90 (Ranges between 49.56 and 53.70) Total Mileage : 2166 Fill Ups : 6 Total Litres : 185 Total Cost : ...

Re: TheFrog's Blue GT 6C
Enjoy the car Frog. It's truly a brilliant car and, in my eyes, the best polo model. It's been the best car I've ever owned so far. I keep meaning to put pics of mine up but it's always dirty within a day of cleaning it!

Re: Factory tyres for Polo GT?
Dunlop Sport Maxx. Though I have to disagree about the car needing winter tyres. I drove mine to Peterborough and back last week (348 mile round trip for me!) and had to go across snow covered roads and up hills. No issues at all, just have to take your time.

Re: Autocar reviews 6C Blue GT (Jan. 16 2015)
It's a fairly accurate review (for once). I've driven both the auto and the manual versions and found the manual to be far more fun to drive. I'd never buy a mini as I've found them hard on the ride and everyone I know who's bought one has said it's started falling apart after 30,000 miles and expen...

Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
To everyone, I think I might have found a fairly silly but quite annoying design flaw (unless it's just mine), but if you could check your cars and report back. With the driver side windscreen wiper, lifting it up results in it hitting the bonnet, and someone who doesn't know it'd do that could pot...
