Re: New GTI + delivery

Thank for the replies And the details I confess that in the past, i was never a GTI fan, but things have changed a lot since the latest models that show a more radical but still elegant and conservative designs that seems to somehow hit a soft spot for me. The level of equipement and quality of int...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

I have to agree with monkeyhanger. My last car was a gtd and I loved it. However thanks to the dieselgate and the government being somewhat idiotic and taxing the newer cleaner diesels rather than old cars, the value was dropping like a stone. I love my new t-roc but had the dieselgate issue not hav...

Re: Carwow dragrace polo gti vs hothatches

OK the Polo came 4th, but would you go out and purchase a Yaris? Where can you go and do a burn out like that everyday, would you want to go on a long journey in a Yaris, how big is the boot in a Yaris? It doesn't mater what make of tyres it was on, even with a rolling start, it still didn't out pe...

Re: Automatic braking

I had this issue on my GTD until I changed the sensitivity of the ACC/anti-collision settings. My ACC is set to be at minimum distance when on and the warning for the anti crash system is set to very late. As a result, the car has only flashed up and braked once in two years since and that’s because...

Re: How many members?

We have our SE 95 tsi sat outside our house. Lovely little car. The reservations we previously had were due to the garish interior of the beats model we were given to test drive (sorry if anyone has one!) and the fact it was the 65ps engine and was painfully slow. My wife loves her new polo, even th...

Re: Volkswagen Polo 2019 in-depth review - third party

I’ve had the emergency braking in my last few cars and there’s certain corners where it sometimes sets the alarm off. Seems to be worse in winter when my headlights are reflecting off a cornering sign. The car thinks you’re going to go straight off road it seems and it’s a bug with all these emergen...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Barrywi: Any news on your car's shipping arrangements? As we both got the 5a tracker update on the same day then i'd expect we're on the same boat. For the hard done to Engineers, you're not the only ones. Scientific jobs in general are poorly paid in the UK for the qualifications and experience re...

Re: Free insurance

Just be aware VW insurance won’t protect your no claims. My wife also had issues getting them to put all her no claims on when the insurance finished with her current car. They kept sending documents with one year no claims despite the fact she had ten at the time. They also won’t insure if you’ve ...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

Don't get me wrong Wolfi, I'm not suggesting that everyone buys a Hyundai. I think I just expected more of the polo and less of the Hyundai. I'm sure many people will be happy with the interior of the new polo. I also think the colour combination of the interior didn't help as it looked horrendous w...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

SRGTD, my wife owns our 6c gti whilst I have a mk 7 golf gtd. I can confirm that the t-roc interior quality is way below the golf and also below the 6c polo. I also had a blue gt previously like you PoloBlueGT and I remember the interior quality in that being pretty good. I’ve got to admit that I’m ...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

Well my wife and I went and saw the new polo on Saturday and even had a test drive. Although it's a much better size and the layout inside looks nice, it felt cheap. Lots of hard plastics everywhere, just like the T-roc (which is a shame as the T-roc was a gorgeous car bar the hard plastic). I don't...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

I’d be interested in the Polo GTI+ when the time comes to change my current Polo GTI, but my preference would be for a manual gearbox. I know the manual version isn’t available yet (should be later this year), but I won’t be changing my car for at least 2-2.5 years, and I wouldn’t want to be an ear...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

The polo gti normally holds its value well depending on options. We are being forced into changing the wife’s gti and she’s well over the 5000 miles a year she should be on due to various hospital appointments in Manchester last year that were unforeseen. She’s only £800 the wrong way in equity desp...
