Re: New Polo GTI Query

Have to say SRGTD I’m incredibly happy with my Mazda. So far hasn’t put a foot wrong. I had a lot of VWs and there was always something with every car - usually minor and liveable with but sometimes major. Touchwood the Mazda has been bullet proof, everything works well and the fit and finish is lov...

Re: New Polo GTI Query

I had a gti plus as well prior to the facelift but never took it on any long journeys so couldn’t comment on the difference there. All I know is it was the final nail for the gti as my wife then said we need a new car. Some days I miss the speed and the fact I owned a gti, but now having actual phys...

Re: New Polo GTI Query

I had the facelift and both complaints are real. The soundaktor can cause rattles so I used to have it individual mode with engine noise set to eco as SRGTD said in another post. Now the noise on the motorway was why I got rid of my gti in the end. On my 35-45 minute commute to work alone it was tol...

Re: Buying advice

Yes the ride gets firmer in sport mode to the point that I set the settings in individual mode as sport bar the ride and exhaust noise. The fake speaker noise was annoying in sport mode.

Re: Buying advice

I had two facelift GTIs and I had a GTI plus before that. The first facelift went after two months because the infotainment system wouldn’t let me log in to use it at full potential and had constant crashes. It went into the garage and VW acknowledged this was a “common problem” across all their car...

Re: Warranty question - how long to fix an issue…

Not to worry you, but when I had my first 72 plate facelift it had massive infotainment issues where it wouldn’t log in, half of it wouldn’t work, etc. it went into VW Bolton who, at the time, were good. After 3.5 weeks there was no progress, as they were waiting for VW to come back to them as it wa...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?

I had my gti for 12500 miles in one year and didn’t have a complaint. No rattles or squeaks, just an infotainment that occasionally decided to reboot itself. My wife has an r line that’s 18 months old and had a United for two year before that. No issues with either. I think what people forget is it’...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti

I did ask them that and they said it’s because someone looking for a VW doesn’t generally go to a Mazda dealer. Not a bad price for the mileage.

Re: Bye bye gti….and VW!

I do like Mazda’s CX30, and the styling of Mazda’s current model range. My next car may well be a non-VW, although I don’t change my car that often (usually every 4.5 - 5 years), so if VW - and the wider VAG - get their act together in the next couple of years and sort out the software issues that ...

Bye bye gti….and VW!

Well it’s come time to say goodbye to my GTI. Realistically I knew I’d made a mistake switching back from the Tiguan a bit ago but my wife hadn’t quite reached that point. Well she did late October on a long trip up to Scotland when, 80 miles into the journey, she turned to me and said “you need to ...

My polo is the same but my favourite trick is to leave it on…..

Re: Demisting

Not found door mirror or rear screen demisting to be a problem on my 2020 GTI+. I find with the rear screen, it helps if the inside glass is really clean. With the door mirrors, the heating elements may struggle to clear ice but if they’re just steamed up, then they clear almost instantly. Mines sa...

Re: temperature dial

Never heard of this issue, but if it needs to go back to the stealer can they not give you a courtesy and collect the car? My VW stealership does this.
