Wires through Firewall
I am about to install my friends new stereo system in his new polo soon and was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to pass a power cable through from the engine bay to the passenger footwell.
I`ve had a good look but cannot see any obvious places to do this. Will I have to drill a new hole ...

Well I only used one resistor per l.e.d and I haven`t noticed any heat from them but i also wired some to my boot light(in a golf) and those do not get hot and give the same output too. I guess that the illumination is on 12v in this case because why would they bother converting the voltages when ...

Well this method means that they are on with the headlights and sidelights because i found the illumination wire. I hadn`t thought of doin it so that they come on with the door open though. Might try that on my car if its possible. Will have to draw up some circuit diagrams first though to check ...

Footwell Lighting Guide
As requested here is a short guide of how to install some lighting into the footwells of your new polo. Sorry there is no pics but I didn`t take any at the time and its not my car so I can`t get them easily. I may be able to inprove this guide when I get more pictures.

I just fitted some footwell lights to my mates new polo. I did them the same as I did in my golf except without a switch. They are made from two hyper bright blue l.e.ds in each footwell wired to come on with the headlight illumination. This produces a nice glow at night which looks especially good ...
