Re: Top Gear drive the Polo Blue GT

... this car seems to love hot air counter-intuitively!! I think so too. Got mine BlueGT DSG in October and also feel the MPG I get is not quite what it should be, but now in the past couple of weeks, the weather has warmed up a bit and maybe the humidty is a little lower, the MPG has improved to t...

what double-din radio did you go for, I am thinking about taking the RCD310 out of mine, not sure what to replace it with.

Re: BlueGT ACT Normality

Ah Frog, I think we are seeing and hearing the same thing, agreed it the sound is like going too slow in too high a gear. I am going to take it to VW for a look at. I have owned the car since October and noticed these things fairly quickly, but I have held off until now while just trying to rule out...

@tomtoon2015 dont get me wrong, the DSG works very well the vast majority of the time. Sure you will love your new car when you get it.

BlueGT ACT Normality

OK so the BlueGT has the ACT cylinder deactivation feature. It is advertised that it switches between 2 and 4 cylinder modes imperceptibly. When it drops from 4 to 2 cylinder mode, agreed it is not really obvious. When in 2 cylinder mode, mine is struggling in some conditions often on level ground a...

Re: Stop & Start very fussy

I would hope it is not exactly in gear as such, maybe neutral or the clutch is not engaged, and the ECU and DSG will have to figure between them when the revs are right, the clutch is engaged and the brakes are released.

Re: DSG Normality

The thing is, if the BlueGT DSG behaved the same as the Scirocco DSG, I would not be posting here at all. So it might be the new DSG not an improvement for my driving style but maybe it is for others. Because the Scirocco DSG worked well, is the reason why I considered the DSG on the Polo too, other...

Re: DSG Normality

I think we have come to similar solution for getting the BlueGT to go down hills. You also mention something I forgot to write about, that is the slowing down to a near stop and trying to accelerate again, such as at junctions or traffic lights. Yep, I get this too, if you slow down, for example get...

Re: DSG Normality

I have owned a 2013 BGT DSG since October, I am mostly happy with it, but the DSG does leave a little to be desired. I also have a 2010 Scirroco 140BHP Diesel DSG for comparison. Both cars have a habit of if you are lightly braking while going downhill and trying to apply enough pressure to stay at ...

Re: Is a polo blue gt worth the price tag attached to it?

Mine is DSG equipped, I'm getting around 50 mpg in town and 60/65 mpg on a run. OK, so if I drive reasonably carefully around town, with no steep hills and reasonably long stretches on A-roads, I get 47 to 50MPG, at normal motorway speeds I am getting 45MPG. In traffic if I go at a 50MPH or so, Yes...

· Rattle from passenger chair which is intermittent but very audible Do you have a 3 or 5 door model? The seat mechanisms will be different based on this, however, on my 5dr Polo, Yep, the passenger seat sometimes rattles, sit in the seat and move it backwards and forwards and adjust the recline a ...

Re: Stop & Start very fussy

Think you are all making comments about how the S&S decides to Stop. What do you think when is Starts, on my 2013 BGT DSG, it can on level ground, lurch into action not as smooth as I would expect or want it to be.

Other thoughts?

... with the cruise set at 65mph most of the way, was impressed at the time. Now around 47mpg running on a mix of city, A, B roads and dual carriageways, probably more realistic figures. I think using the cruise control is one way to get the best MPG, I find the engine is able to get into 2-cylinde...

Re: Polo Blue GT

s it drops a bit towards 50mpg at 60mph and much above 70mph drinks petrol much faster ... Still early days for me, but I was doing nearer 80mph on a relatively flat section of the M4 for about 20 miles and still getting +50MPG. I find to get the engine to get into 2-cylinder mode, you have to acce...

Can anybody confirm those parts fit the BlueGT? I have also seen some rectangular shaped tips which look good am tempted to try them, anybody fitted some non-circular ones yet?
