I have had this error code come up P0420 - Bank 1 CAT system efficiency to low.The engine light comes on after a 6-8 miles with the error code after i erase it.I am hoping it is one of two faulty Lambda but not sure which one.Is there a way of testing them OHMs ie multimeter ,There is nothing about ...

Clutch has gone slack

Today the clutch pedal would not return fully so there was only about 3-4 " to press the clutch and it would not release the clutch to change gear so does this mean the clutch needs bleeding or somthing simplar like a broken return spring somewhere .It worked after a while again then went back ...

Thanks for the reply IIRC that is what i done last time,will check the battery tomorrow when it is fully charged,i took the radio out today to get that checked asap probably not for a few days though, at least being retired from work i do not need the car so will be able to see if the battery charge...

i am going to have the radio tested found some where local,when i put the fuse back in there were a few sparks like a short circit which should not have happened i don't think, had a look at the spare fuse blade connections in the box and they seem ok compared with the radio fuse connection i tried....

Pulled the fuse for the radio about 8 months ago as i suspected it to be draining the battery all has been good .However after nrrding to replace the fuse back in Tuesday two days later i got a complete flat battery and i mean no life even the instrument lights will not show.I am now going to replac...

Done it ,but a pain in the butt as it took longer than i thought,The bolts that hold the front plate(covered in Felt) on in front of the linkage are torx T30 8 of them IIRC, and the ECU and plate and the air filter box needs to come off aswell to get to the two behind it.Took the plastic cover off ,...

My wiper linkage has a lot of wear so i am changing the linkage,I got the wiper blades off easy enough using a ball joint remover but i am finding removing the plastic cover quite difficult as it will not unclip .I do not want to split/break it ,so can anybody tell me how it is held on,is it expansi...

Just jogged my memory about the pump Thanks,the oil is slightly darker than the day the oil was put in the replacement engine after the oil and filter change.Have to check what size tube will fit looking at it i think it would have to be 4mm dia.I have never had to top it up at all.

I had a replacement 1.2 VW engine fitted to the car at 90k,the car is now just over 100k had a oil change/Man filter after the running in period (if that is what you call it )and Catrol Edge 5w-30 was put in with a VW 504 00/507 00 spec.I have not topped the oil up since the oil change so i am pleas...

I got a can from Halfords and that was not right bit dark,i think the best bet is to see if you can get one from VW or get one made up from a reputable auto paint shop,i had a can of Satin silver for a w reg polo but that was darker still,I am not sure but i think the primer has to be right colour e...

seat belt warning sound.

So after owning my Polo for 5 years the seat belt warning light decides to work,wondered what it was first of all when i first heard it then noticed the symbol showing.Need to know does it make the warning sound when the seat belts are not fitted or just the drivers.Or will sound till the engine run...

My pump went 2 years ago water froze and pushed the end out i renewed the seal but that only lasted till last november when the pump cracked so replaced the whole thing .Got it from GSF cars,the pipes are a click fit and are a tight fit onto the pump how ever they need to be given a strong twistingp...

Not sure if this will help but my front wppers done that but that was due to the bonnet not shut properly,closed it and all was well .The rear wipe might be connected to the front switch also in the bonnet like the wipers for intermitant.lock in the bonnet might be needing adjustment.Just a thought.
