Re: How do you completely remove the back seat?
that's a 16 or 17mm hex nut i believe Done it! It was actually an M10 star bolt - a pretty weird tool, which fortunately I had. I think this is only the second time I've used it since I bought it about 8 years ago! Anyhow, my Polo is now a mini van ready for the holidays. Thanks for your help, iich...

Re: How do you completely remove the back seat?
OK, I've done it, but I forgot about the stupid central seat belt, which is preventing me from removing the wider of the two seat backs
Never mind, I think I've made enough room. Thanks for your help.

Great, I will give it a go tomorrow. Many thanksiichel wrote:yes.
the back rest is fixed in the middle with a bolt under a plastic hook
and at the outside it is fixed with a sort of a hook.
use a small screw driver to push the hook backwards (towards the boot) et voila

How do you completely remove the back seat?
I would like to temporarily remove the back seat to be able to carry a bit more luggage. I can see that the squab can be easily unhooked and taken out, but the seat back appears to be held in with bolts somewhere at the hinge. Is it an easy job to remove them?

Re: Bulbs
This was one of the first mods I did. The LEDs look waaaay better than the horrible yellow factory bulbs. However, I went for the 60W version, as these seem to have about the same brightness as the stock bulbs. I've run them for 6 months now and never been flashed by oncoming motorists.

Tips for cleaning sunroof deflector net?
The deflector net thing that pops up when I open my sunroof is looking a bit grubby and full of insects. Has anyone found a good way of cleaning it?

Re: Trunk mat....
The only problem with the better quality, semi-flexible one is that it's designed to sit on the upper shelf only. The cheaper 'yoga mat' one can be ordered for either lower or upper position.

Re: Parcel shelf net
Looks good, but it would be difficult to fix the edges to the underside of the shelf without it showing through on the top. Please report back if you find a solution.

Re: TheFrog's Blue GT 6C
Hmm, can't say I've noticed the drop in mpg, but maybe the OBC is telling porkies. I will have to measure consumption properly next time I fill up.

Re: My Polo R-Line 1.2 TSI 105bhp
Just a few comments (not that you asked for them  ) on your intended upgrades: GTI style LED headlights - get the non-GTI LEDs to avoid the OTT red stripe Lower 25/40mm - and make everyone think you're carrying 400kg of cement in the back Remap by Revo or SLT - Revo did my Mk6 Golf GTI a few y...

Re: BlueGT/GTI - what fuel do you use and MPG?
Tbh I couldn't give a rats ass about fuel economy lol I bought the car to enjoy it and put fuel in when it needs it Agreed. Can't really see the point of buying an expensive, powerful GT/GTI and then worrying about saving fuel. I like the fact that I average about 45-47mpg, but if it was 25-27 I'd ...

Mk1 in Germany for €2900 - WARNING CON TRICK
Just thought I'd post a warning about this 'seller', as I almost believed him for a couple of days. Nice looking Mk1 for sale for €2900 in Germany: http://ww3.autoscout24.fr/classified/264252981?asrc=st|as Only thing is, the car turns out to be in Cordoba in the south of Spain. But no worries, he wi...

OK, thanks for the confirmation. I still think it's a bit weird, though. Surely, if you turn the knob as far as it goes, you want the roof open max
