Personally I have never noticed any sounds, vibrations or anything else on the ACT - but I don't ever drive without the radio on.
And yes, the DSG does often end up in a gear where the ACT cannot be activated - I just ignore it as it only really happens to me at 30mph in 5th, and I am lucky enough ...

Re: DSG Normality
I would say 54.9 is still good.
Of course if you boot it will drop haha :)
Oh it is good. Much better than the previous cars 28. It strikes a good balance between performance and economy and overall I do like the DSG - it just works 99% of the time, and the odd time it does something frustrating ...

Re: DSG Normality
Petrol technology is beginning to surpass diesel and these new smaller turbo charged petrols are beginning to outgun diesel on economy. Diesel is a dying breed, small charged petrol is where the development money is going.
Petrol economy seems to be getting very good - in the EU test. My less ...

Re: DSG Normality
Your Scirroco probably had the 6 speed DSG, which has wet clutches and works a bit differently. I had one in a courtesy car and found it was smoother on take off and some changes.

Re: BGT brakes - what do owners think?
I have no problems with mine - plenty of power and modulation.
It does require you to push the pedal though - I detest many modern cars (I'm looking at you Ford), which have over sensitive snatchy brakes. Other people seem to like them like this and say the bite is confidence inspiring, so its a ...

Re: Is a polo blue gt worth the price tag attached to it?
IMHO, if fuel economy is your main preoccupation, you should be looking at another version of the Polo like the 1.2 TSI. No point in splashing out on a top of the range car if you're into saving money

Re: Is a polo blue gt worth the price tag attached to it?
Seems a steep price that. We got over £3k off the list price, on a car with far fewer options. They do take a while if you do a factory order, so they might be adding a premium for stock.
I like mine,-3dr DSG with alacantara, fairly nippy and does 50ish to the gallon if you drive sensibly.

Re: Anyone tried a full LED headlight conversion?
I shoved Osram Nightbreakers into mine on delivery and have been pretty impressed by the headlights. Though my previous car had Xenon dips, they were old and I suspect not at their best.
I'd try uprating the dip and main bulbs first, as that is £30

Very nice, I'll join the list of jealousy at your garage.
You have almost the same car setup as me - BGT for sensible motoring, and an MX5 as a toy - mines a MK1 though (and currently too rusty to be road legal, but that can be fixed when the weather improves

Mine got stopped before the was order placed, and I went with Alcantara and no winter pack, so maybe they fixed it

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control /City Emergency Braking - useful
The ACC is the Golf 7 was very good.
It will hold you at a set distance from the car in front, and neatly accelerates up to your set speed as soon as the road is clear. You get a visual warning when it detects something nearly in range, allowing you time to move out a lane and overtake without the ...

There are also instructions on how to reset the indicator in the cars manual if you don't have access to VCDS.
