It took Wayside a long time to finally track the squeak down. All the seals were changed, those around the door and the window channels, and the door was re-hung and realigned, both on its hinges and the striker plate, plus the rear door. It appears it's not an easy, straightforward fix and that ...

Well, seeing as non-Polos are featured (Omicron's m/bike), my 1973 (yes ’73) Audi 80 has a tad over 9,000 genuine miles!

As far as I can see, the tyre shop is totally responsible as they damaged the wheel. Did they warn you beforehand that they might damage it and, if so, did they say they would not be responsible? If they didn't I don't see that they've got a leg to stand on. Try arguiing with them and if that fails ...

Try German Recyclers at Hockliffe, near Toddington, Beds

They have one on their website, but it's not always up to date, so it might not still be there.

Good luck

I'm certain these parts are from Audi — they look similar to those on my A4. I remember seeing something on the net about fitting them but can't remember where it was

Chrome instrument rings

Anyone fitted chrome trim rings to the speedo/tacho? If so, any tips or problems in removing instrument cluster? Thanks in anticipation for help!

I agree about Japanese cars — I was just making the point that they appear to be more reliable and their dealers are better (probably because they have fewer problems). I'd never buy one for the same reasons.

With the service I've got from VW and Audi dealers over the years (and I'm very fussy ...

I've got a 9N SDI 5dr Twist, just coming up to a year old. It was bought as a second car and is really cheap to run — 55–60mpg, group 2 insurance, £115 road tax — and being a Twist is good value, having alloys, aircon, elec windows and heated mirrors. When I bought it I checked out the ...
