I have the exact same issues, VW have "assured me" that the noise is the lifters which is "normal" for the car, also they say that the veering to the left is normal (they said this when I asked for a free wheel alignment) I even went for a drive with a technician who sad “yeah everything is fineâ€

around 550 euros I believe. Which is a bloody good price, a local place quoted me $3700AUD or around 1400 UK Pound for a set of coilovers (nothing fancy either)

I realised today that when I press the button for recycled air to be used not fresh air from outside of the car the light goes on for a couple of seconds and then turns it self off. Where have people got a feed for switched power from? I am not to keen on piggy backing the headunit for other devices.

mines just behind the headunit with a cable running to the glove box with a 3.5mm audio jack on it.

Yeah I've seen your pic before with the lighting near the ashtray, loos damn sweet! thats where one set of LED's is going to be the other somewhere in the back.....

i believe they are quite expensive to fix if anything happens to them, worth having to reduce weight on the car too

Rewired my power inverter to the battery with a switch in the dash (soon to be used for a external HDD enclosure connected to my laptop)

Rewired some blue LED's with a switch in the dash

Put wires in for a laptop PSU which will be connected to the battery with yet another switch in the dash ...

assuming its the same as a 1.4, take the cover off the engine unscrew the screws and it should come apart, there you will find the filter. Is this what you were talking about?
