Dazza,

I bought the car when it was 3 months old @ 1000 miles, it has had the whinning noise ever since I bought it, I initially thought it may be normal but now it's starting to bother me. I'm now at 8000 miles. It will be due for a service soon so I'll get them to check it out.

There are a ...

1.9 TDi Sport - whinning gearbox/diff

Anybody else with a 1.9 TDi Sport had this problem - a whinning noise from the gearbox/diff, seems worse at 40MPH in 4th gear when gently cruising along.

Driving to work this morning in the dark, opened the glovebox to take out a CD and thought hmmm, no light, should I have one?

From my experiences when engines are new they tend to drink quite a bit of oil for the first few thousand miles then settle down after that.

I had a clio I bought brand new, it used quite a lot of oil initially, then after about 2000 miles it didn't really use any.

It depends which grill you mean. I found this picture on the internet which shows two grills:

I have the grill between the reading lights, but do not have the big grill at the back. I would assume it's the big grill that contains the ...

Interesting....

I tried a few things to set the alarm off, e.g. leaving the windows open and locking the car then waving my arms around inside but couldn't set it off so assumed there wasn't one.

I also have the red flashing LED in the drivers door, so does this indicate I have an alarm?

Can the standard Polo 9n alarm be fitted afterwards?

Hi,

As you may have read from my previous post, I have just bought a August 2004 Polo 1.9 Tdi sport 5 door (UK VW dealer supplied). It has central locking (not remote), but does not have an alarm. All the brochures etc suggest it should have remote central locking and an alarm.

My question is ...

The actual advert for my car, says it has an alarm:

http://www.volkswagen.net.r66.co.uk/car ... =Stocklist

and also the correct spec list says it should have one.

Basically.I want to know where I stand, as the advert for the car clearly stated it has an alarm fitted and therefore should also have the remote central locking.

As the advert says I should have it, am I entitled to have it fitted?

I don't really want to hand the car back because it is immaculate, and has loads of optional extras, which I've not seen on any of the other Polo's currently for sale, things like full Climatronic and electric rear windows etc.

Well here is the car I have bought:

http://www.volkswagen.net.r66.co.uk/car ... =Stocklist

It clearly states it has an alarm fitted, so if it turns out it doesn't I am going to get them to fit one.
