Re: Quicks pics of GTI ( Dec 2016 Reg )
The 6C Polo GTI came with red-edged carpet mats as standard, it was part of the advertised UK spec. At least it was for my 2015 car.

Re: Polo 6c 1litre 5 speed manual gearbox oil change
 indeed it does. I should’ve elaborated to say at a much reduced rate compared Golden to the point it wasn’t black, arguably it wasn’t fresh but it was clean of debris as such Haldex oil was changed at the same time but the pump has failed (and must’ve a long time ago) so that’ll stay golden t...

Re: Polo 6c 1litre 5 speed manual gearbox oil change
Hello I am writing to see if anyone knows : A) When or if the gearbox oil needs changing? B) Where are the filler and drain plugs to do this (if applicable) as I can see nothing obvious and dont want to undo the wrong bolts by mistake as this could be disasterous? C) What kind of oil I should or ca...

Re: Polo 6c 1litre 5 speed manual gearbox oil change
I would say you shouldnt worry. Gearboxes are a sealed unit, unlike engine oil which degrades over time and gets dirty I changed the gearbox oil in my TT for the first time in its 18 year 230k mile life 6 months ago, and it was still golden as the day it was new! Gearbox oil most definitely does de...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
Today, the family had a run down to York (91 miles each way), an unseasonably warm 12C and light when we set off at 07:30, straight down the A19 from Tyneside..... I've been riding motorcycles for longer than I've been driving cars and tyres are even more important on 2 wheels - I gained a real fee...

Re: New GTI + delivery
Just read that Porsche have written to customers saying that in the case of a no deal Brexit a 10% tariff will go on the car price even if already ordered. If VW try this they can keep it. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk I read something similar about Porsche a month ago. I'd tell them to stick...

Re: Handbrake
Your car is showing an outstanding recall on the DVSA database.
The first link I provided shows the VIN range affected, so you can check manually if your car is affected too.

Re: Handbrake
DVSA have issued a recall for 2017-2018 Polo handbrake:
https://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recall ... =Blank&tx=
The handbrake adjustment nut can loosen. The fix is to fit a ‘locking device’ to the nut.

Re: Clutch Dragging
I had the exact same symptoms with my Golf Mk4. But bear in mind that’s done 160k miles. I put up with it for a couple of years as it didn’t do it all the time, then got round to changing the gearbox oil which turned out to be low. Gearchange quality is like a new car now. Also bear in mind the clut...

Re: 5000K bulbs
Here's the 5000K Philips bulb compared with standard. No need to tell you which is which. I've got this bulb change down to a fine art now, headlights out/changed and back in in minutes. polo.jpg Andy do you have a link to the 2 sets of bulbs you have upgraded to? They look great. Cheers Scott It s...

Obvious things you haven’t mentioned: Spark plugs HT leads Worn exhaust valve guides are common with this engine I think though, which can show up once engine is revved. changed plug and leads also changed the engine when I first for it as I was told guides could be the problem, but still the same p...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
That looks so much better than the standard grill, excellent idea.
In my opinion the new Polo is just not as handsome as the 6C, it’s a rather dumpy looking car. The improved interior space is significant though. I think the Seat Ibiza is a prettier external design on the same platform.
