Re: Multi function display what is your preference?

Oil temperature more than 95% of the time. I like monitoring how the engine is doing. I'd love to have gauges for other stuff like oil pressure, and I hate that the coolant temperature gauge isn't accurate in modern cars. With the RNS 315 I often listened to Spotify over Bluetooth but I always run t...

Re: ciclo's Polo. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.

Hello ciclo, good to see you back :) I saw in the first post of this thread that the Bluetooth module you have installed is the 7P6 035 730 L. Was there any particular reason for choosing the "L" version, or was it just the newest version at the time? Do you happen to know what the differe...

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.2TDI Bluemotion --> OEM++ R-Line conversion

Good job. Are you going for a module with or without GSM reception? If you'll be ordering with, I'm more than happy to donate a GSM aerial. Yes, the white LED's are soldered one by one... hard job but totally worth it. I might have to cover off the 12V socket light in the middle, not sure yet how I...

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.2TDI Bluemotion --> OEM++ R-Line conversion

I'd take the 2,5 meters, 1,5 is way too short. ---- White button illumination. Simply lovely :oops: Yeah, at first I thought 1,5m sounded like it could just be enough, but when I had a look inside the car I realized that a longer one is needed. I ordered a 2,5m one (https://www.carsystems.eu/vw-blu...

Re: New member: Jasper's Red Polo 6R from Belgium

As far as the Quadlock goes, i'm pretty sure the MDI will connect to the wires that the AUX will connect to as well. So you can have both, but you'll need to re-route the Aux to the MDI. Then it will work fine. I found the a schematic of the connector on the MDI unit and is has AUX L/R/ground pins....

Re: New member: Jasper's Red Polo 6R from Belgium

So can you have both and AUX input and MDI? I'm wondering because I am switching from a head unit with built in AUX (RNS 315) to an RNS 510. I thought that the AUX input (in cars with AUX input in the lower center console) and the used the same part of the quadlock connector on the back of the head ...

Re: Which Bluetooth module to get?

I'm also wondering what kind of harness is needed to connect a Bluetooth module to the RNS 510. I checked the carsystems harnesses, and there seem to be 3 versions: an A2DP version, an A2DP + SDS version, and an A2DP + SDS + MDI version. I have all of those features in my car (roof mic and MDI in th...

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.2TDI Bluemotion --> OEM++ R-Line conversion

Sure, wanted to do it the OEM way too but not possible unfortunately as said before. But here are some pictures of my bluetooth module: I thought it was possible to install the module on the floor under the seat (without the foam of course) even with the sports seats. This I've seen a couple of mod...

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.2TDI Bluemotion --> OEM++ R-Line conversion

I put mine beneath the passenger seat as well, with some self-adhesive velcro. As I guessed then. Did you route the wiring harness beneath the sill trim? I installed a bluetooth module recently as well and I was unable to place it under the passenger seat because of the drawers located under the (h...

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.2TDI Bluemotion --> OEM++ R-Line conversion

Since I will hopefully be installing a Bluetooth module in my Polo, where did you install your module? I guess that in the Polo there's no space under the passenger seat for the foam piece that is used in other models. Also on photos of Bluetooth modules originating from a 6R, they have 2 strips of ...

Re: Which Bluetooth module to get?

The 3C8 indeed requires a GSM antenna. Perhaps I still have one laying around somewhere... So I found out that the WRC has the 6R0 035 501C antenna which actually has GSM in addition to FM/AM and GPS. So it should be possible to install a 3C8 Bluetooth module in my car without installing a new ante...

Re: Which Bluetooth module to get?

Speaking of GSM antennas, I just came to think of something. My car has "Mobile Phone Preparation Plus" (I think that's the official name) as factory equipment. So it has the dock on the dashboard to install a Bury cradle. I've read that the Bury system not only supports charging of the ph...

Re: Which Bluetooth module to get?

3C8035730 D and 3C8035730 E have WLAN/WIFI. OK, so does the A, B and C versions not have Wifi? From my understanding the Wifi is needed if you want to get internet access on you phone while in the car, since the rSAP will let the car "borrow" the sim card and the phone will not be able to...
