If you have connections in vw workshop try getting parameter files for polo gti. ( which are rare in our country).

Go to the VW dealer, maybe that unit needs to be parameterized after you flashed it. (in case it is possible to recover the missing parameters) That is why i asked him from where did he get this module ?? Was it parameterised or not?? From what I can see in this thread, that unit is correctly flashed with the correct FW (not corrupt). I guess the first thing to do is the basic setting... Have you saved earlier firmware ?? If yes, try reverting to it. Try getting firmware from person owning polo with headlight range control.

From where did you get the headlight range control module ?? dont tick headlight light control in installed components list then try original coding

You can remove light from socket,depin the socket if possible recrimp or resolder the pins and you can reuse the lights
