Re: New GTI

Re: Best approach to persuading Dealers to price match
Thanks for all the replies.
We went in today produced the quotes when asked about spec and monthly payment and they agreed to match it.
Test drove and loved the car, deal done, now just have to wait.
Still in a daze as it all seemed to go so well, recommend Stratford VW, very friendly dealership.

Best approach to persuading Dealers to price match
This weekend I am test driving a Polo GTi at Stratford VW and after which the subject of price will no doubt occur.
I have spec`d my car using various sites, Orangewheels, Drivethedeal and Carwow all of which have produced more palatable prices.
I am open still to using a Dealer but obviously want ...

Can you be too old for a GTI?
I am 50 this year and I was looking at getting a brand new Polo Bluegt but really want a Polo GTI.
My Mrs thinks that I am too old for a GTI, now I an pretty bald, only 5`7" tall and certainly not muscular or trendy but too old? nah.
So how old is too old for a GTI, when should I be settling for the ...

Re: New GTI
I've gone for the DSG, although the torque is down, a remap can sort that, I would imagine the gearbox can handle some sort of increase as long as you don't go mad!
Although the golf gti gets a different DSG box I've seen large increases in power/torque without any mods to the gear box, and no ...

Re: New GTI
Can anyone with the DSG tell me what rpm the engine is pulling at 70mph in 7th please and the manual as well?
I have the old model but according to Auto Express it is 2,500 rpm at 70mph for the manual, I would expect the DSG to be very similar, perhaps fractionally lower even given the extra gear ...

Re: Best factory fit options for Polo BlueGT
Thanks Tooks, really appreciate the input.
I think you have a point about Sat Nav, I could put the money to winter pack as like you say a warm bum in winter is a good thing.
Hoping to test drive a DSG tomorrow and take it from there.

Best factory fit options for Polo BlueGT
Hi all, just joined.
I am starting the process of buying a new Polo bluegt and wondered what other owners felt had been worthwhile options and which they wished they hadn`t had.
I am thinking of:
Pearl Black
Convenience pack
Heat insulated glass
Front rear parking sensors
Front arm rest
I am not ...
