Re: New GTI

It's been a while since I've posted on this site. I've moved from my Polo GTI to a Fiesta ST3 and more recently to a Golf R! The Polo's 1.8 engine is sweet, the ST a better chassis in my view but I struggled with the comfort of the Recaros. The R is like a massively grown up Polo and I'm still getti...

Re: New GTI

:D Ok I thought I'd do a bit of an update as had car 12 months. As some will know had a few niggles mainly rattles, I dunno if I'm now immune to em or the car has settled but they seem few and far between. The 2 cut outs I had haven't repeated themselves either. Had its first service yesterday and g...

Re: RE: Re: New GTI

Pick up a ST3 on Saturday so last day in the Polo tomorrow as taking it in for a service (on service plan so already forked out on that). Will get the Mountune pack fitted by the dealer at some point. Did take the Polo for a spin on the same bit of country roads as the ST I test drove last week and...

Re: RE: Re: New GTI

Well I've done it and traded in for an ST3. All on all I have to put in just over £1,000 of my own money so not too bad after all. The Polo has been great very fast, premium looking interior but it just didn't do it for me in terms of the driving experience and the ST's suspension is less hard and ...

Re: New GTI

Good luck with your st3 Norfolk boy What colour did you go for? I like the purpley blue colour or the White. There is an awful lot of them flying about up here in Aberdeen but just recently I've noticed heaps of polo gti's too Did you go for the mountune? Think my next hot hatch will be an s1 but t...

Re: New GTI

I had an ST for 11 months and loved it. Always thought I missed it and then I got a shot of it again 2 weekends ago and was actually disappointed! Felt so slow, well compared to my APR'd GTI. I took a test drive in a ST3 today and I loved it which I wasn't expecting. Handling was much better than m...

Re: RE: Re: New GTI

So I have been whinging about whether I stick with my Polo or go with the ST. I am test driving the ST again in a couple of weeks time and it will be interesting to see if the new suspension set up will be any different to the one I tried over a year ago. Just looking for something a bit more engag...

Re: New GTI

The fiesta st is an awesome car but to me it is like a clitoris Every c@&t has one! The polo is a lot rarer and better looking and a lot less boy racer In my younger days I had a nova Sr and a xr2i along with a few other hot hatches but now I'm looking for a bit more refinement Sorry to hear ab...

Re: New GTI

Was ur fiesta Rattle free? (Sorry a hobby horse of mine lol) I'd go for a fiesta St line if buying tomorrow, ST looks, more economical and softer ride. Yes my Fiesta had no rattles. It was absolutely fine but lacked power for me. I personally would want to have the power of the ST and live with the...
