Re: Gear change
Ah, the joys of the cable shifter.
I've been looking for a short shift kit as well, but not much luck finding for my 02U 6-speed box.
You can look on places like dieselgeek, maybe some of their bushings will help to take out some of the slop.

Gear change
Hi all
Recently got my 2015 R Line and one thing I’ve noticed is that it has a long gear change. There also seems to be a bit of wobble / play/ movement in the gear stick even when in gear, more so when in first and second. There no issue with the gear box itself as far as I can tell.

Re: Headlight polish
Very nice results.
But by polishing, are you not scared about the fact of yellowing ? Because there is no more varnish to protect the plastic ?
I wasn’t but am now lol.
All the info I found on headlight restoration talked about applying a new clear coat after sanding and polishing. I thought ...

Headlight polish
My headlights had quite a few scratches and swirl marks (the passenger side also had one quite deep scratch) so following a recommendation from sam7wright I tried Meguiars Plast-rx polish with my DA polisher. Really pleased with the results and only took a few passes with the DA polisher.

Re: VW Polo (6C) Pure White
Thanks for the info, I bought this polisher some time ago with a plan to learn the technique but time got away with me ( https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/das6pro-dual-action-polisher )

Re: VW Polo (6C) Pure White
Looks good, where did you get the LED bulbs from (interior and exterior)?
What polish and wax do you use? I’ve recently do my pre winter wash using autoglym magma (amazing the amount of contaminates this shows up), clay, autoglm super resin polish, dodo juice light fantastic and then top up with ...

Re: New owner with some questions
Had a chance to change the discs and pads and give the callipers a quick quote. Very happy with how they have turned out.
Went with EBC OEM discs with greenstuff pads in the end. I’ve had the pads before and liked the performance. I used hammerite in the end for the calliper as the calliper paint ...

Re: New owner with some questions
I'll be brief, don't take it personally :)
- I always take TRW discs and ATE pads since they are the OEM supplier. I have no bad experience with any other brand though.
- You don't need a wear indicator
- Just make sure to do appropriate preparation and perhaps a 2K and/or heat-resistant paint ...

Re: App Connect
Unfortunately I have the non compatible 3Q0 035 820 A head unit. I like the idea of standard look as opposed to aftermarket and I can see a few of the head units for sale on eBay that would take App-connect.
The question I have is, do I just need the head unit or do I need to also replace the ...

New owner with some questions
Hi all
Recently got rid of the family car and bought myself a 2015 VW Polo R Line 1.0 TSI. I was a bit nervous as I’ve always been a Ford fan so it was between a polo R Line and Fiesta ST-Line. I opted for the Polo as it was different and felt better in terms of looks, interior and accessories. I’m ...

Re: Alarm issue
Thought I’d give an update in case others have similar issue.
In total the alarms gone off 4 times in 6 weeks. Garage have confirmed this was triggered by the interior monitoring alarm 3 times and by a door lock 1 time. It has had a door lock replaced under warranty a while ago before we bought it ...

Re: Alarm issue
Thanks all, I’ve found it in the settings.
VW are looking at the car again tomorrow as the alarms gone off 4 times since purchasing it from them 6 weeks ago. I’ll mention about the backup battery.

Thanks all, I’ll mention about and ask them to check the back up battery.
Anyone know how to switch off the interior monitoring alarm? There no button on the b pillar so I’m assuming it’s somewhere in the touch screen media centre ?

Re: Alarm issue
Turn interior monitoring off when you leave the car, do it for a week and if you've got no alarms then assume it's not insects.
Thanks but don’t quite understand. I won’t get any alarm as the interior monitoring alarm is off so won’t pick up the motion of the insects. Do you mean it could be ...
