Re: New GTI

My car left the factory yesterday, dealer is saying handover on the 17th of October, fingers crossed. If he's right it'll be exactly 12 weeks from order.

Re: New GTI

Can anyone have a look at the seat levers and see if the cut outs are there like they are on the golf, we make the metal parts for the seat inserts available from a guy on eBay at work and he was kind enough to send me a pair, my GTI is being built next week so I've no idea if they'll fit, here's a ...

Re: New GTI

Does anyone know if the 1.8 TSI engine uses a timing chain or belt?

Re: New GTI

Hi, My GTI was ordered last week in June, I had a confirmed build week that was last week. Not heard anything and the track my VW hasn't changed. Has this happened to anyone else? Cant wait to get it! Some of the reviews and pictures on here have been great! Cheers! The tracker is slow to update, i...

Re: New GTI

From my extensive reading in anticipation it would seem that those that don't choose the sports pack get their car 3-4 weeks sooner than those who do choose it, as for the other options obviously dsg and 5 door appear to add a fair bit of time too. But the rest I'm unsure, I imagine a lot of it has ...

Re: New GTI

I agree it's quick but I'm pretty sure it was built to order. I think the dealer was surprised as he originally quoted October. Also they have another customer who ordered in April (different spec to mine) whose car hasn't arrived yet. Very strange but I'm certainly not complaining! what options di...

Re: New GTI

I'd love to get my exhaust done when I get it but it'll void the warranty :( I really wish VW did what Vauxhall did with the corsa VXR, the exhaust on that thing is 1 decibel off the legal limit

Re: New GTI

For those of you into 0-60 times Comment was 'It's actually so strong in the mid-range, wheelspin knackers its times, so it's crucial to maintain traction' Of its real world competitors only the Peugeot 208 GTI recorded the same time. It was quicker than: Seat Leon Cupra (Hatch and Wagon) (0.2) VW ...

Lead times

Evening all, I thought it may be of interest to some if everyone with a 6c posted their order date and their delivery date as well as the options they went for. Just to see how close VW actually are, I've seen 12-16 weeks quoted for the 3 door and 16-20 weeks for the 5 door and possibly longer if yo...

Re: Exhaust options

Ring them for an accurate quote, but I imagine it'll be the same as the 1.4tsi, they'll make one bespoke for your car and fitting is included in the price so free basically. You can choose from loads of tail pipes which they have displayed in their showroom

Re: Exhaust options

I'm not sure where you're located but cobra will manufacture exhaust systems specific to your car if you can get to them, I had one on my old corsa, dropped it off at about 9, walked around Meadowhall for 5 hours :( and then walked back to collect it, they're in Sheffield by the way, though I imagin...

Re: New GTI

Evening All Been lurking around looking at things on here for the past week so I thought it was time I joined, I ordered mine on July the 25th, went for it in flat black with only the DCC sports pack, my current car is a Peugeot 207 GTI (bag of nails) so only a slight upgrade on power but in terms o...
