Re: Mk5 polo gti 1.4 dsg 7speed

Take it back to where you bought it (hopefully a dealer-a dealer will either have to give you the money back or repair it) that sounds like 1.4 tsi engine issues, which can be very expensive - full engine rebuild/replacement.

Re: Engine light

That sounds like an timing chain tensioner issue, resulting in disparity between the camshaft and crankshaft sensors timing values.
Don't drive it, full diagnostics, and pray you've caught it early, then it will not be third world debt expensive!!

Re: arm rest & gearlever

Not a big fan of 'GTi' being all over the place, I quite like understated, that's why I picked standard 'Polo' rubber mats (if I could have got them with no name I would have done) and I didn't put any badging at all on the replacement carpet mats for the same reason.

Re: arm rest & gearlever

Yes the manual version is interchangeable. I gave the original standard mats to the father in law, the new ones are carpet, and much better quality

Yes I have both, voice control is really useful, mirrorlink is nice to have, to make mirrorlink really fulfil its potential, you also need a 4G wireless hub. Got mine from Vodafone £50 to buy and £20 a month, unlimited data Assuming your media is capable (I bought a new 2016 SEL for my father in law...

arm rest & gearlever

When my GTi was delivered, it didn't have an armrest, and the dealer told me it would be £800:00p to fit one, so I bought one on ebay, and recovered it in Alcantara The armrest (GTi type with cup holder) took 1/2 and hour to fit - 4 bolts and two screws, don't believe all this tosh about six hours, ...
