Re: Tyre pressure ghosts

Even if this is a basic system that 'only' senses a difference in wheel speed, rather than an actual drop in pressure, surely it can tell us which wheel on the display.....? Some Golf owners over on golfmk7.com have said that their car does indicate which tyre had triggered the TPMS warning, and as...

Re: Paint Issue

Are you sure it’s under the lacquer and not contaminants on the surface of the paint / lacquer? This seems to be quite common with the Golf where industrial fallout (iron particles) can become embedded in the paint while the cars are parked alongside rail tracks waiting to be loaded onto train trans...

Re: New GTI + delivery

@gonk1959; you’ll have been speaking to the call centre of the insurer who underwrites VW free insurance, so on this occasion it’s not VW but the insurance company who’ll be the cause of your frustration. Bearing in mind free insurance hadn’t been available on the GTI or GTI+ for some time (was it e...

Re: Polo AW Photo Gallery

Red is the best colour (opening a can of worms)! I have both sat outside the house and to me the red one looks a lot better than the white one externally. Yes, a potential can of worms. A bit like starting a discussion on manual v’s DSG, petrol v’s diesel v’s electric and many other similar car rel...

Re: New GTI + delivery

There’s currently 46 GTI/GTI+ (the majority are GTI+) listed at various Carwow dealers throughout the country in a variety of colours and specs - it’s possible that some of these are in transit from the factory if they’re shown as available in the next few weeks. There’s a small selection of nearly ...

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?

Not the current model GTI, but the previous generation model, and l thought some of you (lucky) current model GTI / GTI+ owners might be interested in my real world mpg figures in my 1.8 192ps 6 speed manual GTI. This was on one of my typical ‘A’ / ‘B’ road journeys between 4.00 and 5.00 pm yesterda...

Re: New GTI + delivery

4 delivery mileage pre reg GTI Plus models at parkway VW in Northampton. I told the post there was a GTI and a GTI+ at Marshall Grimsby, waiting for some one to buy one person replied I'd rather wait till the boat comes in, he must want a "69" plate  I suppose it depends on what spec that per...

Re: New GTI + delivery

I was surprised to read that the scuff plates were illuminated for the 2019 model. It's those little touches that add to the car but VW always hold back with Polo GTI. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk Elsewhere the sill plates for the GTI+ are described as; Door sill protectors in stainless ste...

Re: New GTI + delivery

So, in washing the new care to be sure that the blemishes seen on the bodywork were bug splatters, tar spots and hard wax drips presumably snotted from the bodywork cavities, I found an assembly error: The interior lip of the upper window frame rubber has not been tucked in properly. I'm assuming i...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Are the door sills illuminated as previously mentioned in the brochure for the 2019 model? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk I didn't drive it in the dark yesterday ti know for sure (in case lighting function was linked to the light sensor for headlights - doubt it would be that sophisticated in...

Re: New GTI + delivery

I haven’t fitted my mats yet, but iirc there a red stitched thread around the edge. I took the OEM boot liner from my previous 6R and put it in the new car, it is noticeably smaller, not by much however it doesn’t fit as snugly as it did in the 6R. I received a phone call today from the online reta...

Re: New GTI + delivery

My GTI plus came with standard mats no red piping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks for the heads up Robint. I will take mine out then for new car and put the new ones into old car. Mine have the red stitching and are very clean. There’s a fair chance they won’t fit very well. With the curr...

Re: Door mirror remote operation

I have a 2016 GTI. To tilt the mirrors up you push the mirror joystick forwards towards the dashboard / towards the rotary light switch. To angle the mirrors down you pull the mirror joystick back towards the rear of the car. To move them side to side (to widen or narrow the angle of view) you push ...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Had a bit of a surprise when the dealer was giving me the interior tour. Showing the buttons near the gear lever, he pressed parking sensor button which I did not know I was going to have. I do not recall seeing it as a standard feature on the GTi+. I wasn't bothered enough to order it but since I ...
