Re: Gti engine cover

That looks awesome 😎 I think VWAG are just cheaping out on making Individual parts and just making one fits all, so you might see blank engine covers on seats Skodas Audi etc.. my friend had a 1.6tdi seat and the engine cover had a vw badge under the seat badge (was stuck on with 3m double sided pa...

Re: Adding a Turbo

I don’t think it would be as simple as just bolting a turbocharger on to your engine. Worth having a read of this; https://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/technical/turbocharging-normally-aspirated-car/ Considerations; - Cost; likely to be prohibitively expensive. - You’d invalidate your warranty for anythi...

Re: 2019 lead times

Does anyone know if the south Africa factory is still open? My gti+ should have been built over 2 weeks ago but the vw tracker app is still showing it as build week confirmed My dealer is now closed so I can't check status, anyone have any ideas how I could see what's going on? Have you tried VWCS?...

Re: BlueGT Fuel Consumption

Bear in mind that the official fuel consumption figures for the 6c Polo will have been produced under laboratory conditions, so they don’t reflect real life driving conditions, and I doubt anyone will achieve the official figures in normal everyday driving. The official urban mpg figure for the 1.4 ...

Nice color! love limestone grey!

The wheels, it 5x100 or 5x112?
The Polo’s PCD (bolt pattern) is 5x100.

Re: Polo GTS from Brazil

Spot the different bumper in Brazil. Looking closely at the VW badge on the tailgate, it looks as if it might not double up as the handle / opener, and is a conventional badge that’s stuck in place. If so, then that would explain the recessed section in the bumper that you’d need to use to lift the...

I meant the lip under the licence plate on the rear bumper. The part where the exhaust pokes out.

Re: Rear lip

Pretty certain the rear lip above the rear screen isn’t a separate part - it’s part of the metal pressing for the tailgate, so can’t be removed and replaced with a different lip. You can see it on this YouTube video in the VW Polo factory from 4min 20sec to 5min 9sec when the robot on the production...

Re: Volkswagen Polo GTI AW from Spain

Almost all the new cars don't have headlight washers. I prefer it, I had a Golf with them and when you lost one cover it was horrible because you had to wait to paint something of the car to have them again. When I enquired about this last year Feb at time of purchase the salesman informed me that ...

Re: What is the situation with VW main dealers?

I suspect our GTI+ has just come off the Glovis Condor in Zeebrugee ?? Now what, is it likely to be transported to the UK or will it be locked up at the port? MJ I suppose it depends on the local situation at Zebrugge and whether or not the port is operational. I dare say it will be but there’s a c...

Re: What is the situation with VW main dealers?

If you’re on the time and distance service regime, the service interval is the sooner of 10,000 miles or 12 months, and as monkeyhanger has said earlier in this discussion thread, a degree of leeway Is permitted. However, on time and distance service regime, if you exceeded these limits by a more si...

Re: Volkswagen Polo GTI AW from Spain

Looks great @fran_92. Enjoy 🙂. . I must admit I found this spec amusing: Heated Seats and Washer fluid level indicator I mean come on VW, how are these two items related? It's as if they just take random items and bundle them together. @OomStu_ZA; we can also get the combination of heated seats and ...

Re: Help! Drivers seatbelt wont pull out

Non serviceable item. A new one is a lot cheaper than your life or plastic surgery to restore your good looks. Agree, and it’s important that the existing problem seat belt is replaced with a brand new one, not a second hand one, as the history of a used seatbelt won’t be known - e.g. it could have...

Re: Side skirts 6C GTI Help

If the metal sill behind the side skirt has been pushed in as it seems to have been judging by your picture, it’ll probably mean the screw-in fixing points into the sill are extra-tight into the slot holes in the back of the side skirt. Might be worth trying to push the side skirt inwards towards th...

Re: Side skirts 6C GTI Help

Hi all Does anyone know how the side sills/skirts are mounted on the 6c GTI mine has started coming away. See my picture. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It looks as if your sill has been pushed in behind the side skirt, creating a gap between the side skirt and the sill. Here’s the rever...
