Re: Outside wheel skipping when accelerating in a corner.

What brand of tyres do you have and how worn are they?

Re: Loaded Boot Struts

I’ve not seen anyone with these on a current model Polo.

IMO they’d be fine, provided you don’t park anywhere with height restrictions that could result in tailgate damage if you inadvertently press the tailgate button on the key fob without remembering about the height restriction 😧.

Re: Electric folding mirrors

If you have the optional electrical folding door mirrors in your GTI, then your mirror adjustment control will be like this; C790448B-6827-4CFF-AC06-81B12ED8A702.png I’d have thought that cars without the folding mirror function would have a different control knob - like this one; 154CFC33-FEA3-48F8...

Re: My Latest VW Purchase

Yes, they are very expensive; £11.95 a pack, but with a 15% discount code it’s not quite so bad. Still expensive though at just over £10.

I’ll need to try the Aldi bratwurst to see how they compare.

My Latest VW Purchase

These were discussed fairly recently on another VW forum. I had an advert with a discount code pop up in my Facebook feed and curiosity got the better of me, so I bought some! Not tried them yet, but they get pretty good reviews (assuming the reviews are genuine 🙂). A223BCFD-7ACA-4D3C-9008-0A4306CC2...

Re: Healights

I'm pretty happy with: Philips WhiteVision Xenon effect -- I see you've detailed about them in your thread, however. A friend of mine is running 'NIGHTEYE LED Headlights' - which just screw in to the same fitting. They're bright- seriously bright- but the spread of light is awful. Poor spread of li...

Re: Polo GTI Issues(AW)

Mine’s been pretty issue-free since I got it 2.5 months ago. A couple of instances of mild mooing from the brakes when reversing after washing the car. When I last bought petrol and locked the car before going to pay, the nearside door mirror didn’t fold in (the driver’s side mirror folded as normal...

Re: Exhaust Modification and Insurance

Different insurance companies take different approaches to modifications; some are more receptive to modifications than others - e.g.; some won’t accept any modifications - usually because their business model / computer systems aren’t set up to accept anything other than standard risks. combination...

Re: 215-40-18 or 225-40-18 tyres on Polo GTI

Got some pictures at hand if that helps. :) I bought the PS4's on monkeyhanger's recommendation. Would recommend anyone else do the same, they have improved the car ten fold. And having the protective lip is a benefit! Thank you so much!!:) I wanted to ask do the 225/40/ R18 tyres rub against the f...

Re: Fitting skis inside the Polo

@NotAThrowaway; Here’s a couple of photos of a 1.8m length of timber in my car. One end of the timber is tight up against the back edge of the boot so you can see how far the other end protrudes through between the front seats. Re: Fitting skis inside the Polo

I have carried skis in my BlueGt (my2016) no problem (170cm) : can't remember how just now - will give it a go tomorrow and let you know I believe the BlueGT is the previous gen Polo so dimensions are most likely different. Yes, the dimensions will be different; the previous generation car is small...

Re: Rear brake noise on reverse

Two months into ownership and my GTI+ has been pretty much moo-free. There’s just been a hint of a very subdued mooing noise on a couple of occasions:- when using the car after I’ve washed it and there’s been the usual post-wash coating of light rust on the braking surface of the discs. Apart from t...

Re: vw polo led rear lights retrofit diy

The UK spec Polo R-Line does get LED taillights as standard, as did the GTI and GTI+. On all other models, anyone opting to have factory LED headlamps also gets LED tail lights as part of the LED headlamp option - at least in the UK they do (it might be different in other non-UK markets).

Re: are 6R and 6C mud flaps the same

Hi. Maybe a dumb question. We're after a set of genuine mud flaps for a 6C polo. Are these the same as 6R (which seem to be more readily available)? THANKS! Both the 6c and 6r Polos use the same body panels so in theory, 6r mud flaps (at least the front ones anyway) ought fit a 6c. You’ve not said ...
