Re: New GTI + delivery

So as I said last week my car had arrived in uk meant to be picking it up tomorrow (Thursday) get call this morning apparently they can’t register the car yet coz it’s still not passed wltp testing so it’s going to be sat at the dealership for next 3 weeks at least what a joke Pretty certain I’ve r...

Re: Raise the limit( not the Titanic)

Speed doesn't kill, bad driving does. What does make me fume is motorists looking down at their mobiles when driving. Put the bloody phone down, your text is not that important. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk Totally agree johnpolo2. In spite of the penalties for using a mobile phone whilst at...

Re: Recall - rear seat belt

Got my permanent fix letter. Annoyingly VW are once again implying that my car may have to go to the dealer for a full day for a 30 min job. So that adds up to 2 full days of my life wasted because of this VW mistake Has anyone got any suggestions how I might persuade JCT600 to do it while I wait?!...

Re: New car advice

@SRGTD one last thing what pre wash foam do you use, I’ve been using karchers but the last batch I got does not seem to foam up and cling to the car, it’s quite watery and seems to run off to freely. I have been using the more expensive karcher foam gun but also have the cheaper one as well but get...

Re: New car advice

Some of that list is entirely impractical to do at pick-up. Are you really going to have the dealership jack up the front 2 wheels to feel around for the transport pucks? The OP, or any other forum member for that matter, aren’t forced to use the list. It’s just a suggested list of things to check ...

Re: New car advice

@SRGTD another thing I do is instead of using the grit trap buckets Is use a garden riddle/sieve placed on top of a spare bucket and jet wash the mits both sides before I reuse them to dislodge any grit or marks on them. I always wash out my mitts in clean water, and the drying towels go in the was...

Re: New car advice

Good advice Mike. Here’s a checklist you might like to use when you go to pick up your car. Checklist items are in no particular order; 1. If possible, always inspect the vehicle in the dry. Tell the dealer in advance of collection day that if it’s raining when you collect your car, you dont want it...

Re: New car advice

When I picked my car up I insisted that they did not prepare the vehicle as the people they tend to use are minimal wage usually foreign and know next to nothing about preparing a car and putting any form of protection coating on it. The guy I use is mobile and went to the VW dealers and spent over...

Re: Today I am driving ... a Citroen C3

They are delivering the fixed car in 20 minutes from now. I insisted this was done in daylight so I could inspect the repairs and paintwork. I don't doubt the bumps are gone, but I do worry about paint matching, and differential paint fade over the years if the paint is a different formulation from...

Re: Orange triangle exclamation mark means what?

Check in your owner’s manual - should be under ‘Instrument cluster -> warning and indicator lamps’. In the manual for my previous generation Polo, when the triangle symbol with an exclamation mark is displayed, it’s to warn you that there should be additional information displayed on the instrument ...

Re: GTI and WRC rims

It’d be worth checking the load rating of the WRC wheels that were fitted to the previous generation Polo WRC if you are considering fitting these to a current model Polo GTI. The current (AW) Polo GTI / GTI+ is heavier than the previous generation (6c / 6r) Polo GTI, so the previous generation Pol...

Re: Winter tires on Brescia

For "susceptible" to whiteworm, read "inevitable". Ironic thst my correctional software tried to change "whiteworm to "s**t"? I hate diamond cut alloys. If you look after them with sealants, the whiteworm comes in just out of warranty. If you don't seal them then it comes in just after 2 years old ...

Re: Do I have cruise or not?

A list is a good idea silverhairs. When considering a new car, I research the model(s) I’m interested in, check what’s included in the standard spec and what, if anything, I’d need to add by way of ‘must have’ options. I know that vehicle manufacturers sometimes change the equipment level of their c...

Re: Winter tires on Brescia

Hi guys. Since I'll be leasing for a period of two years I'm searching for great bang for the bucks wintertires for my Polo GTI? I'm planing on using them on the Brescia rims. Does anyone know what kind of tires it is? Is it 225/35-R18? If you’re fitting them to your existing wheels, won’t they be ...
