Re: New Polo GTI Query

I have a 2020 pre-facelift GTI+. I dislike the fake engine noise so have had the soundaktor set to ‘Eco’ from day one of owning my car (I use the ‘Individual’ driving profile mode, so I can customise the setting to my preference). As for excessive cabin noise - like @OomStu_ZA, no problems with my c...

Re: Buying advice

Yes the ride gets firmer in sport mode to the point that I set the settings in individual mode as sport bar the ride and exhaust noise. The fake speaker noise was annoying in sport mode. The ‘sport’ suspension setting is far too firm for me too. I also dislike the soundaktor’s fake engine noise, so...

Re: Buying advice

Thanks all will keep all that in mind, tyres well Same as what I got on the one I own. With the auto I was told some time ago that the shocks go from soft to hard if put in to sport mode? Manual never had that. Insurance wise well last year my insurance went up 200 from 350 to 550 for the year for ...

Re: Buying advice

A bit of a brain dump below, so apologies for the very long post. I don’t have a facelift version of the current Polo GTI but I also came from a 2016 6C Polo GTI 6 speed manual to my current car which is a pre-facelift 2020 Polo GTI+ that I’ve owned from new since September 2020. IMHO the build qual...

Re: Coolant Question

Thanks @RUM4MO, will give VW a ring and see what can be bought over the shelf. @SRGTD - Thanks mate, hope you're well! It's an interesting one as I've had issues with the coolant in the past (have posted about it here), a couple of years back I had what I thought was a leak. Could quite clearly see...

Re: Coolant Question

Hi @S_94. Good to see you back. A low coolant level might indicate an issue with your car’s water pump and / or thermostat housing - a weak point on VAG’s EA888 2.0 litre engine. I don’t know if the Gen 3b version of this engine as fitted in the Polo GTI suffers from water pump / thermostat housing ...

Re: Dash faults driving me mad!

The car is 2019 and I’m the 2nd owner so not sure what situation the means where the warranty is concerned. Thanks for your response and the warranty like. I’ll take a look. Thanks again 👍 In the UK, if a VW car is sold during the first three years / before expiry of the factory warranty, then the ...

Re: Dash faults driving me mad!

Welcome to the forum @Ribble2020. I sympathise with your frustration. ABS sensors can trigger warnings that aren’t related to the anti lock braking system, so hopefully replacing the ABS sensors will fix your issues. Presumably your dealer scanned your car for fault codes - were any error codes logg...

Re: Oil change schedule

Interesting thread. My gti polo was registered March 2023 and I purchased a service plan which covers two services (I hope!). Currently about 5000 miles on the clock. I was expecting annual services when I drove out of the showroom, but notice the info system is saying oil change service in 13,700 ...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Took my Polo GTI+ on a 209 mile round trip this morning; the longest trip it’s ever done. Most of the journey was dual carriageway or motorway so I was able to maintain a steady speed close to the national speed limit most of the time. Driving time; 4 hrs 4 mins Ave speed; 52 mph Fuel consumption; 4...

Re: Interior Detailing

Food and drink isn’t consumed in my car, so drink spillages and difficult to remove food detritus from the seats and carpets isn’t an issue (I only use the cup holders in the centre console as a place to put my keys and petrol receipts; not drinks 🤣). I have a waterproof boot liner with quite a high...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti

I would just like to agree with @SRGTD (as you say @turbotrev another full reply as always) The dealer is talking absolute rubbish. There is unfortunately nothing planned in shape of a new Polo. If anything it’s a question of how long they keep production going. I think Euro 7 legislation is nearly...

Re: Interior Detailing

The interior of my GTI+ rarely gets dirty, so usually it gets just a quick vacuum of the seats and carpets, a shake out and brush of the floor mats and a wipe over or brush of the dash and other plastic parts with a clean microfibre cloth and / or a soft bristled detailing brush. For the interior su...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti

Hello all just popped into a dealer with a friend to order a new Polo GTI for him and the answer we got from salesman was you cannot order a new one now but have a couple coming into stock that they had ordered but they are not the spec he wanted he also said they only have 3 models in Polo range w...

Re: Keeps on asking me to login to my PROFILE

Got to laugh at times, otherwise you would cry  This morning I noticed that for no reason that I could fathom, I got logged in with a "Guest" profile and it had kindly switched the Climate control off (it's happened a few times before). Select my primary profile and all is well. The ...
