I use the zimmerman cross drilled discs from GSF- about £50 a pair i believe, i can safely say they do the job nicely! The pads i use are black diamond predator pads, and again they're spot on! About £60 or so a pair can't remember, but got them from motorsportworld.co.uk They are 16v polo pads......

so much easier to colour code the rocker with it still on the engine!! I didn't realise how much of a pain in the arse it was to remove until i tried it on a mates engine! lol... How did you manage to 'key' the rocker properly with all those edges, nooks and crannys it has...i think i'll do the same...

shouldn't do hopefully...the 1.4 16v box is stronger...i think the bearings they used in the GTI box are the main problem with it. I've got the box now, so i'll give it a try and see what happens...its only 25bhp more on what it's used to anyway...so shouldn't effect it as long as i don't go crazy w...

that bracket sort of acts like a feed for the cable itself... the clutch cable isn't expensive anyway- most likely about £10-15. the welding isn't expensive either and if its fixable and done to a high standard, then it shouldn't break again. It'll be better and longer lasting than another pedal bo...

something to do with either the main inner shaft bearing or the ones on the gears. My final drive/diff are deemed useless due to a bearing exploding. In time i'll take apart my own GTI box and try and do some investigating for you guys... Lets just put it this way though...after speaking to an ex sp...

Actually when i click on your links...it makes it clearer!! 1.4 16v 100bhp box: 1st: 3.45 2nd: 2.10 3rd: 1.45 4th: 1.10 5th: 0.89 Final drive: 3.88 1.6 16v 125bhp 1st: 3.46 2nd: 2.12 3rd: 1.44 4th: 1.09 5th: 0.89 Final drive: 3.60 So basic differences are in the final drive really!! It would break this bracket and the clutch pedal would just drop leaving you without a clutch... the job re...
