It is my sons car , it had had a new N/S/F wing fitted before we bought it , i stripped out the footwell trim and hosed the car and could see the water trickling in. It was the rearmost top fixing bolt for ...

Re: Fuel filter

I'm pretty sure i should have a 3bar filter/regulator on my car. I also found a good website showing part numbers for various parts and the below link seems to confirm my thoughts. http://www.vehiclepartsdatabase.com/vehicles/allprivateroadvehicles/volkswagen/polo/12/awy/19720/fuelfilters/alcofilter...

Re: Fuel filter

I have a rich mixture fault at times although the car runs fine and emissions are spot on.
The fuel filter is not original and it says 4bar on it.
Thats the reason for my question because i am thinking that the higher fuel pressure may be causing my issues.

The reg is AO55YBV.

From everything i can find online i believe it should be a 3bar filter/regulator but it would be great to have confirmation.

Fuel filter

Hi
I have a 2005 1.2 Polo engine code BMD .
Can anyone tell me the correct fuel filter that i need as i believe it should be a fuel filter with a built in 3bar regulator.
It has a fuel filter fitted that has 4bar stamped on it.
Some confirmation of the correct one would be great.

Re: P0172 rich mixture 2005 Polo

Yes they are , they have both been replaced and made no difference.

The long term fuel trim is always a negative figure , like -15%.
The short term fuel trim seems ok alternating between positive and negative.

P0172 rich mixture 2005 Polo

My son has a 2005 VW Polo 1.2 engine code BMD. It brings up P0172 rich mixture fault code after a few days and puts the engine light on. It still runs lovely with no misfire or loss of power. I have fitted another cylinder head with new ex valves and guides as no3 cylinder valve guide was worn badly...
